Hammer is far from game-breakingly OP

Wow, after the Hammer/Vulcan nerf, NOBODY IS HAPPY. They still bash Hammer for the same, ungrateful reasons.

 

(Disclaimer, if you don't like cynical text please leave)

 

Counterargument #1)

 

"It 2-shots my Hornet in a short period of time. Add DP on that thing and that's gonna be three dead tanks."

 

You're using Hornet? Others are using Hornet? Is nobody using a close-range turret on an attack-based hull? If a Hammer comes, harass it with anything to no end then roast/dismantle/freeze the Hammer to death!

 

Oh, he has a heavy hull? You're either using a combination improper for the situation, your team is terrible, or the Hammer is fulldrugging every single time. If it's the first thing, don't complain. If it's the second thing, I beg to differ against any arguments you have, and for the third thing, you can't steal supply boxes? The only viable way to fulldrug is to use item boxes. If a Hammer misses a Nitro, exploit the low turning speed. If a DA is missing, drug DP! If a DP is missing, get someone to tank all three shots, unless you have a horribly made all-Hornet team.

 

That's not your problem? You want Hammer to three-shot Hornet instead? Might as well remove the weapon from the game then, it's an inferior Thunder then.

 

Counterargument #2)

 

"Its range is too far"

 

Hammer is a horrid choice for any campy map, 'nuff said. Hammer also got a range nerf, BE GRATEFUL. Hammer was also intended to be able to be used at mid range, but it is not meant for mid-range combat. Hammer is most effective at close range, where the recoil and damage is used to the best effect. Don't forget that simply running around a column will do wonders to counter ranged weapons.

 

To be honest, pre-nerf range is a bit long, but i think post nerf, it will be reasonably balanced.

 

Counterargument #3)

 

"The game is catering to the buyer nubs that love the turret because its op so they keep it op"

 

I..I don't...I just...lololololololol silliest thing that can be said, period. By this logic, INSULT RICOCHET AND FIREBIRD. You at least NEED to MU Hammer M3 to make it viable at Generalissimo. Ricochet and Firebird reward bad skill, and don't even need MU's at M3 to be good. Need I say else? Also, it's as if everyone has completely forgotten about the Ricopocalypse (First 50% sale on Post-Rebalance Ricochet) and a large majority, including me, carped about it for being incredibly OP. Oh look, now all we do is poke fun at the nub Rico-Hornets that don't have enough dexterity to use more than five fingers at once. Ricochet, which was considered OP to begin with, gets a buff and look at how calm everyone is about that. That's just hypocritical stupidity. Fire getting a buff? Oh, PSHAWW, lolbird

So, you still want Hammer to be removed from the game? If you do, please answer this: How do I know you don't just want Hammer to be removed because it is your weakness, and you want you weakness to be removed so you can stay OP? Oh, so you also want Vulcan to go down in the flames with Hammer? I'll make it happen when the game officially gets deleted from the world. By then it's already happened.

Vulcan is getting a range nerf. It was mediocre at mid-range to begin with, and it's going to become worse. Also, making it unable to 2shot a Hornet (second weakest tank in terms of HP, which is actually a very good reference tbh) would defeat its own purpose of hit-and-run. Also, saying you're a buyer doesn't help your case.

It is just the business model, not just for this game but all pay to win games, new items are overpowered when first introduced in order to encourage people to buy them and then over time they are nerfed.

So far Hammer has a longer reload and a little change in vertical aim.... I hope they won't change that much... Too less attack power might make it worthless due to longer reload. I'm still getting this kit :)

 

Vulcan's power has been nerfed and like a toy gun...  <_<
