Leaving the battle

Recommended Posts

Hi,

This seems to be happening more and more.

What is it with players leaving the battles when the other team is winning?

They say things like" If you don't stop drugging I am leaving".

Other players decide to leave also.

I joined a battle and had other players on the team and all of a sudden I start getting destroyed by the other team and press the tab and see I am the only one left with 8 minutes left to play.

Come on tankers, stick it out till the end.

I feel if tanki goes with being able to leave the battle and not lose battle funds, this is going to happen more often.

People don't like to lose, so they quit. Unfortunately, most tankers follow the logic of "why stay till the end when I can go and find a better battle", which results in matches such as the one you described. I doubt that anything can be done about this, but to you I would suggest playing PRO battles, as players there are more focused on winning and are less likely to randomly leave before the battle ends.

The players are just acting in their own best interest.  Why stay and get farmed just to drive up a battlefund that you will only receive a small part of  when you can find a map where you will either win or is close enough to have a proper game.  The rewards could be tweaked to provide enough incentive for players to stay.

I've been in battles where we were getting "farmed".

Then when the battle started over and changed sides , we "farmed" them.

I don't think jumping from battle to battle is even worth it.

But this is just me.

Their were also times when the team does come back from being behind.

That's why I said for players to stick it out till the end.

Just like the pro battles as mentioned by Mafioza121.

The logic also happens in Pro battles too...People also leave, leaving the match empty. I remember waiting half an hour for a Pro battle match to end because of problems with the 'Battle early timer'.

There's no 100% chance your team will win in the next few rounds. Once I stayed and the same team loses 3 rounds straight.  Playing a match is always based on luck and chance.

The main culprit is fund distribution...

I play only pro battle and the situation is the same.it would change only if each player had to leave his stake in the crystal in case you go out <---- that's a good idea :) I think

Exactly. I have busted my butt earlier to drive a fairer reward distribution, but it seems that there is some majority agreement that if the losers don't get raped at the end, then there is no incentive for winning.

I am a proponent of play to have fun. If you are not having fun like in the case where you bust your butt only to get farmed, then you should leave as soon as you discover this situation. This strategy (like every other strategy in the world) does not work every time, but that does not stop people from using strategies everywhere.

The rape party at the end also stops people from joining a losing side because when you click play on a losing side, you expressly say I want to share that debt. Most people don't like to pay other people's debts.

Yes, when you leave a battle "prematurely", you don't get any crystals. Think about it this way though.

If I stay here and play for 20 more minutes, I can earn as many crystals as I can earn in 2 minutes if I join a good battle. I am sorry, but someone who chooses a miserable situation willingly has something wrong in his brain and should do something about it. There is nothing about heroism when you play a miserable battle just so the other team can have some fun. If you enjoy misery, most other people don't.

To be honest with you, I would leave to if the battle is taken over by constant drugging.

why play and help them build more funds?

Personally I think it is players like yourself that contribute to the constant drugging by sticking around and giving them points capturing flags.

let them play by themselves and see how much they keep drugging.

I don't mind getting stuck in to a battle and losing does not bother me either but i'm not going to hang around if it means being spawn killed or having to drug just to play.

Of course there’s another reason for quitters. Materialists, profiteers, will play, only, if the promise of profit is strong. If any hint of failing to win surfaces, they saddle up and ride.

These words could never have been more true.

The only reason I will ever stay in a badly losing battle is because I buy crystals.  If a free player stays in hopeless situations the reward for losing is so trivial they won't be able to afford gear.  In fact to earn crystals quickly being able to predict the winning and side of a battle and join it is probably more important than playing well.  There remains an inadequate reward for the losing team and it creates an imbalance in games, a majority of maps end prematurely when a team quits.
