Bored of Tanki?

What Now?

After many grueling hours of grinding on high-end Polygon CPs, you've finally made up enough crystals to get that paint you've wanted to buy this upcoming sale. Now, with time being your only impediment to the new protection, you have several choices ahead of you. You could read those new books you grabbed down at the local library the other day, or watch the next TBS special. However, if you don't plan on quitting Tanki until the sale (since it's still such a ways away), and playing on your primary account has gotten quite tiresome, then what do you do? It's simple! Make a secondary account, and start a whole new adventure!

Tankers make new accounts on Tanki Online for several different reasons. Be it due to wanting to start the whole grand adventure over again, mismanagement of crystals on their main account, having their main account banned for a span of time (this happens to people more often than I'd prefer), or just simply boredom with the tank they own now. Secondary accounts have almost become a standard for tankers with a current rank higher than Third Lieutenant, and sometimes lower. With a secondary account, many more possibilities are opened.

So, you've ordered a new tank, fresh from the factory; engines are primed, turrets are loaded, and you're ready to go! What now?

Invite Some Pals

Everything is better when you're doing it with a friend, right? So, why not bring along some of your fellow higher ranked tankers and have them make some secondaries as well? Take it from someone who knows a thing or two on the subject: you tend to pass the time much easier with some allies by your side.

Record Your Progress

There's certain to be more than a few YouTubers out there on TO. You think you've retained enough skill from your primary? Start off from the beginning, and record your process along the way! It's an easy way to attract the attention of other tankers, or the simple viewer. Besides, you're more likely than not to catch some rare moments on camera this way!

Try Out New Equipment

I'm certain that not everyone has access to every single weapon and hull upgraded to the highest at their rank. Most tankers tend to stick like glue to a select combination of equipment. (For example, I rarely stray outside out Smoky, Railgun, Hunter and Hornet.) So, when most players start up a new account, they try to step outside their usual comfort zones and buy some new tech. Sure, there are those who hold to the equipment they owned on their primaries, but I say, where's the adventure in that?

You've gotten everything set up and ready to roll. With your increased level of skill, you're assuming you're going to be ranking up faster than you remembered. But how do you maximize your speed through the stripe ranks? Here are a few tips:

Utilize The Boxes

Like you would in a match of your own rank, when a supply box comes your way don't hesitate to grab it and milk the charge as long as you can. In a lower ranked match, most players tend not to notice these boxes and pass them by as assumed props. Grabbing these item boxes will not only allow you to stay on top during some of these lower matches, but it'll allow the newer players to witness the power of these items, causing them to yearn to learn more about them.

Stockpile Your Crystals

Surely, you've tried saving up your earnings on your main account, but most players have tinges of regret towards that one item or more that they purchased. By setting up a secondary account, you have the chance to make those amends and purchase your equipment at a rapid pace. Also, a little hint: try and take it easy on the micro-upgrades. Taking the first ones is a smart choice. I'd even go as far as to purchase the second MU stages. But, really, anything beyond three stages is simply not worth the money in lower ranks, with easier M1s lurking around the corner.

Battle Higher Ranks

Let's face the blunt facts. Higher ranked matches usually have larger funds (if only a minuscule difference) than most Recruit battles. To follow up on the crystal stockpiling point, most matches with First Sergeants are likely to yield a larger crystal count. Also, Master Sergeants and above tend to have a higher level of skill, ergo making the competition more interesting. It's a win-win!

So, if you've found some spare time (and don't feel like getting some extra vitamin D), feel free to give this a shot.

I created my alt at 1st Sgt. Now my alt is wo1. I'm already doing part of what you said: I'm getting (in sales) the, equipment I don't own on my main.

Some friends and I have been playing with our new "noob" accounts and these are all things that make them more fun. We also enjoy a little bit of takeover if we see an unbalanced team capping on a poor under manned team.  Nice article @Shedinja

I have tons of alt accs because I don't like fighting with high ranked players lol...

This is my 4th acc and it reached a higher rank than the rest of my accs because I use this one for parkour so I keep it active and upgrade it. Speaking of parkour, it's a great thing to do after battles become boring! ;)

About the MUs, I fully upgraded the damage on my smoky M1 and the health of my wasp M1 and it made a huge difference in battles, so not only the first MUs are useful, also when you focus on one combo you do have the crystals to fully upgrade at least one parameter of your M1 and still have enough money to buy M2s and MU them and then buy M3s as soon as you can. Now I have Smoky M2 with fully upgraded damage and it is so much better than Smoky M2 with the first MUs only!

oh and also playing minigames is a good thing to do when normal battles are boring :P I especially like playing "flip fight", but there are lots of other minigames out there :)
