I played a few battles with m3 thunder and it is op as hell.. so is it true that it will eventually be nerfed again ?? it seems like a lot of turrets are stuck in this constant cycle of buff and nerfs

MUs are what bring out Thunder's true colors. Base stats are.........ok but not the greatest.

Yeeee. I agree with jazz20.

That's why I was hesitant on MU'ing Thunder. I wasn't very impressed with its base M3 Stats albeit it was good against lower ranks.

At M4 it rocks. Hehee. I do not regret MU'ing it.

Although you'll still come across Emerald-painted tanks which become quite the annoyance, just find a way to take care of them or switch to another gun. Or let your teammate take care of them I guess. You'll still do OK damage, but if they have health pack or something then don't even try. Best take out the any surrounding enemy/isidas and let your allies kill it.

But either way I'm fine with Thunder going either way.

If it stays the same, great. I can get used to this bigger radius and damage. My reload is pretty much maxed at 10/12.

If it gets "nerfed," I'm assuming reload will be faster, which is excellent! :D

Most likely - yes, but probably not in the nearest future. Major balance changes happen about 4-5 times a year, while smaller insignificant ones are being done without proper notification. Enjoy Thunder while it's OP, but don't worry if it gets nerfed because all guns will still be fairly equal in performance.

M4 Thunder is certainly OP. With DP it can deal massive damage which is pretty anoying as it can pretty much one shot Hunter easily - and Hunter DOES have more HP than Hornet or Wasp. M4 thunder can one shot three hulls easily with DP. So it is quite deadly now. However, without MUs it isn't that much of a problem. Its slower reload now gives a bit more time to at least have a shot at destroying that player's tank instead of watching him SD himself when he has very low health.

m3 Thunder is comparatively weak because it is one of the earliest m3s to be unlocked.  This is why the MUs improve it so much by m4.  It definitely seems OP at my rank, not sure about endgame although I am only about halfway to m4.  One shotting medium hulls seems a bit excessive.  Best counter I've found is MU'd prodigi since people don't seem to notice how much thunder resist you have until it is too late.

I'd also say the rebalance changed the character of the turret.  Higher burst damage with a slower rate of fire impinges heavily on rail's play style, and the splash damage nerf reduces the most unique feature.  At any rate I'll enjoy the buffs while they last.

that was how thunder used to be. anyways I hope they keep the current characteristics (slower reload)

i do not understand people complaining about a weapon they consider to be overpowered?

if in a real war i had the choice between a  pea-shooter and barrett sniping rifle i think i know which one i would choose

i would be far more likely to complain if the weapons were under powered

are players complaining because they are getting killed by these weapons ?

is that the weapons fault or the players fault?

@smokeyh2 Mostly I am afraid that it will become too popular and anti thunder paints will be even more popular.  It will get nerfed in the near future but all the players who invested heavily in expensive paints will still wear them.

Aside from that balanced gameplay is in everybody's interest. Most people aren't looking for an advantage.

What i propose it that the thunder has this ( oh also i feel that it is overpowered as at my rank M2 easily kills a hornet in 2 shots)

Increase the splash damage as its unique to the thunder

Decrease rate of fire

This is my opinion, however im not a thunder user but i feel that they fire too quickly and with the damage update they rule the battle field along with the ricochet...

(sorry for the double post :| )

Its not that the players arent skilled, trust me its that with a high fire rate and high damage its obviously too much for some people to handle unless they invest in a thunder-resistant paint... which is the problem in of itself.

The fact that people are now playing with thunder resistant paint far more often is a testimony to how powerful the thunder has become, thats what im trying to convey. Rather like how people seem to love rico and rail resistant paints...

And that is why I'm gonna make my Rustle 45% in the MU sale (Currently 40%)

Seriously, this gun is quite powerful in Poly CPs, but at least the dreaded 2-second reload is gone.

Yeah sadly, as a Thunder user I have it fully Micro Upgraded on Damage and Reload and it takes 2.5 seconds to reload :(

It's sooo long when you're used to that 2 second fire rate.

This'll take time to get used to.

Even worser for the users, now even Hornets are 2 shotted. and since most maps are open areas, OP as hell for the one receiving damage, While nub for Thunder users themselves due to slow reload.
