Attention message for client users.

Recommended Posts

Some players use 3rd party clients to play without knowing they are vulnerable. And it ends up on their accounts getting stolen and I'm sure they don't know how to get their accounts back, as not everyone visits forum and wiki. So there should be an attention message for client users. Websites can detect the browser that's used by the user, so why not Tanki? For instance, if I log in using a client, a message on my screen should pop-up saying: "Attention! You're using a third-party client which might be vulnerable for your account. Please use a normal browser instead, or standalone flash player". And, that message should be not removable so that players would be obligated to use normal browsers. It would also avoid cheaters using hacks.

Disagreed. I agree that many hacks are caused due to special clients but there are some perfectly legit ones too. If I create my own client, I don't see why I shouldn't use it if it gives me performance (or otherwise) advantage over normal browsers.

There isn't much we can do about it, all we can do to protect ourselves is link our account to an email. That can reverse any hack happened on your account. As long as it was done by a hacker of course.
