Manual [Surrender] button for loosing team

Are you seriously suggesting that a surrender option is of no benefit to multers??

 

I would highly apriciate if you can outline a scenario where mults make your team surrender _and_ you as loosing team player have a drawback due to the surrender (not due to the mult, but due to the surrender the muls can trigger).

Remember they can not make you surrender as long as you got the last flag (criterias, initial post)

Kirby, Do you have used the one-a-half days to think about something?

I would really apriciate to have an answer.. just to make this idea here better.

It came back,only when there is none in the enemy team left? I saw in couple vlogs ago

I saw it in the v-log to, but not in the battlefield. I am quite sure it is not active yet ... maybe it is a plan

I like this idea. It should be that more than 50% surrender means the battle is over. In addition, the battle should automatically end if the winning team is ahead by 10 flags(CTF), 50 kills(TDM), 30-250 depending on how many points there are(CP), and 100 kills ahead(DM).

Thanks all for the feedback provided up to now.

 

I've added an additional option to the main post, describing a threshhold mechanism. So each player has to obtain 5% or more of it's team score, before this feature might be activated for him. This 5% make sense for battles up to 10 players per team. For more players per team the value shall be decreased coordingly.

 

 

Having more then 50% to agree on a surrender is a little of an issue if only two players are left.

Maybe I should change to 50% for two players, or 60% for three or more players.

 

 

automatic termination:

Automatic termination is a goal that is very hard to archieve. As a human and trained tanker you can judge the situations on the battlefield, develop a sense for the change of momentum and see when a battle turns into your favor - although you are still behind. We've alredy seen an automatic system failing.. although it was well thought through. It is simply that a battle can develop by so many different ways... that it is hard to get fixed parameters to decide about that.

Therefor I thought about having the players decide by themselfes. Therfore this feature without any automatisation.

When Hazel Rah was working on the original system I felt it was better to let players decide rather than the software. People can sense changes and variations that cannot be easily recognized by a program.

I read through parts of the thread that holds the thoughts and discussions for the automatic system. HAzel there stated his reason against a manual system, and it was "possible abuse".

 

I thought through the proposal I sketched above, and up to now I have found no abuse scenarios, that sounds feasible and that hurts more then continued domination.

I am absolutely sure the human mind is creative enough to come out with some.. but interrestingly up to now noone has sketched a real threatening abuse scenario.

 

And even if.. I rather have a solution that solves 70% of all issues.. then having no solution at all.

I like this idea, but what if that other 50% of the team wants to keep fighting???

Anyways if you place multers you will see easyer who is multing by pressing the surrender button while there is like a tie.

Does your question

- point on another balance in the percentage.. like you think 60%-40% is better?

- or do you think that even if 90% want to surrender, the last 10% (usually one player) may not be overruled?

Hello everyone, how's it going? I have an idea to suggest, so let's get straight into it!

 

So my idea is for the people who do not want to wait in the battle for ages until "Server Update" actually happens! For a scenario, let's just say you were in a STG (Save The Gold) or you were doing Wasp/Fire with your friends... Or even maybe even in an XP/BP and everyone left the battle... If the fund is near 3k-5k or higher and there is no enemy, there should be a "Vote End" button where if you press it, it will actually sign your vote in to the game, even if you left the battle. This way it is much easier to end battles without waiting for so long (which can also add to your ratings!)

 

If you guys don't get what I am trying to say, here is more of an specific and more in depth example, which can hopefully help you comprehend my idea. So lets say I was in a STG battle and it does not have an "Auto Finish" timer due to the battle's settings, and someone already took the gold box and all the Defenders/Attackers left! Here's where my idea will come in, and a pop up box will pop up in the top left corner and will ask you "Would you like to end this battle?" and then a "Yes" or "No" option under it! The limit is if 50-60% of the people in game say yes, the battle would automatically end, despite what the timer has to say!

 

This would really help some people and me and my friends because we do STG's every weekends and when someone takes gold by accident or when the gold has been taken by an attacker people start to  leave and some fight about who gets the fund and if the specific person that needs it real bad does not take it, he/she will get mad and post the link in servers like RU1 saying "STG GOO" when actually there is no gold. After that more fights about who takes fund occurs because new people join and see how high it is and say to themselves "lets drug and end this are way" they might not post the link and sometimes you are the only one in the battle left and you don't want to wait, the 3 votes will estimate to: 10 players = 8, 5 players = 3, 1 player = 1, the process keeps going on.

 

:excl: NOTE: This is not a new version of "Auto Finish" because no one really put's Auto Finish in STGs.

I like the idea. I don't do STGs, but multiple times I have had a score of 2k+ with a large fund, and everyone on the enemy team leaves. It would be much better if we could vote it to a finish instead of waiting 15+ minutes to cap enough flags or get enough CP points

 

However, I disagree on the 3 people thing. It should be a ratio based on how many people are in the game (maybe 50-60%)

If an outnumbered team is taking over a full team, the full team will just vote to end before you outnumbered people take over. Could be unfair at some points.

If there are people on both teams, this is not an option.

If there are people on both teams, this is not an option.

There's Auto-finish to solve this off. An unfair number limits the time of the battle to, I think, 3 minutes.
