Great idea and should be fun the watch.

(Funny how this endorses 'no supplies' as best for good competition, while 'Hazel Helper' still thinks 'no supplies is not interesting' or at best has been unable to solve this riddle despite being told new ideas many times - see the other massive threads on why over garage drug use is bad for the game balance - especially when done by the leading team - just extend the smart cooldown times -  it's only a parameter!)

However, there is a problem for this new competition:

Since this is a 'lottery' for the 'Players' to get into the first round - then it could be that very few of the 'Players' selected have M3 equipment and a high chance that these 80 are not the best Players!

(In my book, this lottery idea is a fine for a first attempt at this new competition, see other ideas below. **)

I do think it likely that all the Helpers are Pros and I presume they all have M3 equipment?

If we get M3 v M1 (or M2) = no contest!

Only if all 8 'Players' have M3 equipment in the finals do the 'Players' stand a chance.

Normally the best 'Players' would beat the best 'Helpers' as they did last time - but this time the odds are stacked in favour of the Helpers - i.e. most of the 'best Players' will not get through the lottery stage!

I suggest if you're a Player and do not have M3 equipment then do not put your name forward and just hope some good M3 Players can get selected for the first round to give them a chance.

Hence, I will NOT BE APPLYING as I only have M1 and M2 equipment at my rank!

Even though my M1 Wasp and M2 Rico is perfectly capable of beating many M3 players, I will have no chance against the M3 Helpers.

To make this a LEVEL PLAYING FIELD for ALL participants (L2 and above) Tanki should have allowed only M1 equipment with no MU's (and no paint protection) - that would have been much more fun to watch - i.e. potentially seeing L2's beating Generalissimos!

If it was a level playing field then I would most certainly be applying.

** Maybe a better method to find the best Players for each community is to arrange some 'skill tests' relevant to the map to be used.

Then we can ALL participate - e.g. automatically set the tank to be any M1 Max for the combination that you own and with no MU and no paint protection - then we have a level playing field.  Then the top 80 scorers go into the first round as Players (take a look at how they do this on the VRC Pro game).

For future competitions then more ways can be found to 'test skills' to gain competiton entry:

I agree best to use DM matches as a knock-out competition to weed the numbers down.

Also consider using a skill judging 'league system' as used by UK Squash clubs (this self administers to a large degree).

Can we still keep the paints?

It didn't mention in post, so as usual paints will be removed after event is over.

What does that mean kkkkk3157??? what paint

Paints, which are going to be added in the game on May 22nd at 02:00 UTC for Players vs Helpers event.

Read the first pages newbies. It isn't for fun :P
