[Issue 35] Chronicles of a Nug - why the heckles not?

Greetings, readers. I have set aside some of my time to get some playtime on this account. I realise it is time I could be using to use my other alternate account's new M3 Thunder, but the pwnage in the M2 ranks can wait until the exams are over, I guess. Without further ado, let's begin!

This is the account in its current state. You may have noticed that the account has an extra 500 crystals since the last time I played on this account. If you haven't guessed, it's due to the fact I received a crystal bonus. Yeah, you read right. A crystal bonus! For the first time in around 4 days a long time, I received a crystal bonus! Unfortunately, I dismissed it as another underwhelming bonus, despite being aware that I received them. It's much appreciated bearing in mind what it requires to obtain a decent reward in ranks like these.

13,044 crystals - good stuff, in my eyes, at least.

This kit caught my eye as soon as I saw it. I'm quite interested in kits in general - this is because once the kits expire, a new kit comes in. Some of the kits are underwhelming, but at the same time, some of them are pretty amazing. ONE EXAMPLE IS THE BULLDOZER KIT WHICH CONSISTS OF THUNDER M3 AND MAMMOTH M2 WITH EMERALD AT LIEUTENANT COLONEL, WHICH IS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING - ABSOLUTELY AMAZING.

I'd like to let you know that I purchased this kit, for the following reasons:

1. It gave me an excuse to use Ricochet somewhere. See, eventually, I will rank my main account and I will purchase Ricochet M3.

2. It has a 50% discount. Therefore, I will still save a good 1,775 crystals, despite already having Hornet M0. Heck, it beats the 38 crystals I would have saved for the Almighty kit!

3. Shafts are rampant at that rank, despite the nerf. The Lead paint prevents me from being a one-shot.

4. I need a new turret to use now that I deem Vulcan as pretty obsolete.

5. Why the heckles not?

I actually forgot about the fact we receive supplies for purchasing a kit. I love having a stock of mines, so I'll certainly be putting them to good use. I also like how, in this kit, I received every supply. Seems like a good buy so far!

Now I wanted to play with my good friend, Foot Rest:

Unfortunately, he wasn't online, so I had to play on my own - boohoo.

A good start to say the least. Nabbed myself at least 5 kills before dying each time. As exemplified by the score, we were dominating throughout. This map gave me good scope for Ricochet's signature ability here, and I agree with those that say Rift is underrated. The one thing that was quite odd about this battle is that my FPS averaged 60 for once hah11223's D/L. The amazing reward brings me back to just over 11,000 crystals, which means I can buy M1 Smoky upon reaching the rank. Yay.

I joined this deathmatch ever so slightly after it begun, and was pipped to the post by a Ricochet-Hornet that nabbed a DP at the very end. One thing I've learned about using this turret is that you've got to make your shots count. It takes 6 shots to take out a Hornet M0, and missing just one of them makes the difference between life and death. The reward was better than I expected - then again, my kills are equal to around 600 points in a team match!

The message I cannot be rid of - the message that prides itself on telling me what is quite abundant. I'm certain that I've checked the "Do not show again" icon every time I see it. However, it appears that it insists on greeting me.

Believe me when I say it's frustrating to be one-shotted by a Hammer on Double Damage. Fortunately, the shooting on that user left a lot to be desired at times. Other than the OHKOs, it wasn't all that bad. We were losing at first, but the opposing team didn't know how to defend. Therefore, I kept on capping in circles, and took a solid lead. It was another decent reward, given the scores aren't too difficult to obtain. Hopefully this keeps up!

What you're about to see is mind-boggling:

FEN-HAREL WAS ONLINE. I CALLED OUT TO HIM.

Only to receive the traditional-

He didn't feel like playing, so I decided I'd finish up my playtime on this account by playing one more battle.

There were a lot of Isidas in this battle. One thing I've noticed about them since the balance is their increase in reach. There's me thinking I'm safe from being sucked to death, but no, I get bopped by an Isida. It's quite respectable now, to say the least. I still don't know how the weapon fares in the new balance though - just something I thought I'd point out. Another thing I've noticed is that particularly in the lower ranks, the losers leave. Then again, there's never really much to fight for!

I'm going to leave it at that. My future aim is to buy Firebird M1 - do you agree? Feel free to comment below!

Firebird M1 has almost no burning effect. However, M0s are easily pawned by it....

Hmmm... I sometimes use firebird m1 even at my rank lol. It's quite effective if you know how to use it. Btw, an inspiring article as always.

Um, Firebird M1 has a lot of burning effect. Especially since the rebalance. M0 had almost no effect, even though it has a bit more now... Maybe Firebird was different when you had M1?

Burning effect, yes, (slightly) but the time it lasts, and the time it needs to take hold, and the amount of damage, that is low compared to other M1 Turrets effectiveness.

Go with m1 smoky, I bought fire first, and never used it, just went back to m0 rail on my mo hornet. Annoying, yes, only use in Polygon CP's, occasionally.

If I were you, I'd save yourself from using thousands of double powers pass on it. I only use it in Polygon CP, and I can't do anything with it unless I'm getting the crap yelled out of me for drugging like mad using a few supplies here and there. But it is rather good, it's still somewhat effective at this rank, more so at the lower ranks.

I'm a consistent reader of this article series. I love the humor that is so frequently inserted and often lacking in many articles by other people. Keep writing these, looking forward to that OP Firebird M1! :D
