Is it cheaper to directly update to the next m1-2-3 or to upgrade to it through MU?

I think it probably depends. The plain cost is much more expensive if you do it through MU's. However, every MU that you do will give you a better place in each battle, meaning more crystals. I think that if you make good use of the MU's that you have done, it may be cheaper overall. I wouldn't do it though. It would more likely be cheaper in the long run to just but M1 M2 M3 separately ;)

EDIT: Don't forget that since some weapons now have extra features that you can MU, they will become a lot more expensive to get to M1/M2/M3 buy MUing. Just keep that in mind :)

No. Micro-upgrades are several times more expensive than upgrading to the next M. But that's the price you pay for the early advantage you get.

This system will bring about changes in the way people use micro-upgrades. I can be sure and say that this change will be for the better! Since the price remains the same for buying the next M and MUing, it makes sense to now MU your turret/hull.

The extra parameters included for smoky, ricochet, etc. also makes it easier to understand the turret and the game.
