[Guide] The best paint for Your rank

This topic has been inspired by stanzhang's topic about the best paint against turrets, thanks for that!

 

The topic is self explanatory and therefore im just going to get stuck into it! However i need suggestions from the people because i've only played 2 game types thoroughly which is CP and CTF. So if you have suggestions for the other game types please state in the comments :)

PLEASE NOTE: i have made these judements based upon people playing within maps that are medium - long range such as RIO and KUNGUR (for example). And mostly based on the average player, E.G doesnt have loads of crystals

 

 

RECRUIT --> STAFF SARGENT

LEAD - The reason for this is that even after staff sargent lead is very effective, in fact i've kept my lead paint until WO5 and it's served me very well as often in maps such as Silence and Rio the shafts are a problem and with a Micro Upgraded LEAD paint even a M1 Wasp can survive a shot from a M1 Shaft.

Works well with...  Wasp  and Hornet, as the agility of them is a key factor to making quick captures for the flag and ranking up quickly.

 

STAFF SARGENT --> WO1

Dirty - Although im showing a slight bias to shaft resitant paints there is a reason. YES i know that ricochet's are a trouble at all levels in the game however when in CTF its important that you do not get one shot-killed as its a sure fire way to never making successfull captures. Its the last paint in the WO1 yet its not the most expensive and like lead can be used later on in the game.

Works well with... Wasp more so than Hornet as this gives a certainty to withstand a shaft hit HOWEVER be carefull and use a turret that can self-right the hull because it often gets shot over by experienced shaft users

 

WO1 --> Third Leiutenant

CORROSION - This is a no brainer, the paint is so useful that even i use it now because when fully Micro Upgraded its better than sandstone and taking thunder and shaft hits. This is possibly the best paint for those who can't afford sandstone later in the game as it provides great protection against thunder,shafts and railguns when Micro Upgraded. It is most useful i've found in maps like Kungur and Rio.

Works well with... Hunter,Hornet and wasp (well it works well with all hulls but realistically your not going to be making a lot of caps with a mammoth...) It works best with hornet in my opinion as when you get to this stage the hornet becomes a stable hull, whereas before you can upgrade a M1 wasp to be better than a hornet.

 

Third Leiutenant --> Major

SANDSTONE - Ok let me clarify something, yes this is NOT the best paint at the rank however for the price its at it is going to be the best for the average player, this might show in my previous judegments. As mentioned before corrosion is almost as good as sandstone however as you get to this stage the railguns start to get much stronger and thunder becomes a pain, so when Micro Upgraded this will last you a VERY long time. However i dont use ricochet resistant paint yet because in CTF the likely hood of a ricochet with pin point accuracy shooting at you from range is very small, but a shaft/railgun/thunder shooting you at range is high to say the least.

Works well with... Hunter, as at this rank it accumulates a good enough speed to be able to swiftly take the flag and take large hits, Oh by the way that's important as the Shaft M2 is common among experienced players... (either that or im delusional :wacko: )

 

Major --> Brigadier

SAVANNA - Im going to admit i completely contradict myself here :) however what i've noticed (or "being delusional i've noticed...) that M2 Smoky's are very formidable, in fact they were tossed aside at M1 but in M2 they are part of the Trio of strongest turrets, Thunder,Ricochet and of course Smoky. This paint however provides protection against the two of the three and the Railgun, which also is very powerful however due to the availablity of paints for it isnt that feared... Yes its expensive. Yes you are losing out on shaft protection. However this paint is VERY formidable when Micro Upgraded and seeing how M2 rico's are about like the plague then this seems neccesary.

Works well with... Hunter, and Hornet. Hornet is useful when Micro Upgraded in HP only though as the un-modified version is often killed in two shots easily by a M2 Thunder, so to stop that happening i'd suggest MU'ing it. Hunter the same but not to the extent that i think its weak like the hornet, just give it some more just in case

 

Bridagier --> Marshal

Prodigi - Despite not speaking from expeirence, i have played in various games up to this rank and all i can say is prodigi is needed, in a long range map it is the king of paints up to this point and despite the fact that if you dont buy a kit you wont get it until the rank Marshal, it blows all other paints out of the water in terms of long range combat when MU'ed. But as always dont rely too much on this as Smoky's and Rico's can still kick your ass if you rash.

 

Marshal --> Generalissimo

I have no authority on this so i need suggestion based of experienced players on what is the most favoured turrets, and using the thread above i will decide on a paint to put here!

:D i remember all paints i used. I started with white, storm, loam, prodigi/inferno. From marshal- gismo there is many prodigi, inferno, emerald.

As a generalismo, there is no best paint for that rank,

 

as at this point, tons of people have saved enough to buy several m3s, and with intro of 1 min change of equipment, you really need to have a varity of paints to Always survive in battle.

 

out of all high rank paints, I would say "Inferno" is most important to have (cheap and good), especially if you play crowded map or small map, silence, noise, sandbox, island, hill, combe.

 

I have been using and muing only 1 paint "Needle" for a whole year since marshal due to my weak hornet hull and long reload rail, and I need protection against long range quick reload guns. and I dont recommend that way with only 1 paint.

To be able to survive all big battles, 10 vs 10.

 

you need have a collection of paints.

  1. Clay, no doubt the old king of medium range paint, (which makes Prodigi not much use after a few steps of Clay mu)
  2. Tiger, cheapest and easiest Hammer protection, and with only a few mu, it can replace Savana like with its easily mu-ed 41% smoky, 20% rail (no double Hammer is everywhere since the JackHammer kit)
  3. Emerald, cheapest and effective Thunder, Twins heavy protection, good for close range fighter and thunder users. as effective as Africa in most case. also in case, the MU of Clay takes too long and too many crystal for big thunder 40%+ protection.
  4. Inferno, cheapest alternative to Zues and effective all the way since you bought mainly for fire, freeze, and cheaper to mu as well. of course, if you aimming for the best and have no issue on crystal for mu, I would say Lamberjack (isida, fire, freeze)
  5. Jade/Needle, good to have just one if you need for Shaft in some case, it depends on whether you prefer extra thunder/hammer or good rico protection.

If you have tons of crystal for micro-upgrade and a lot of health kit. then get Africa, Lamberjack and mu them all the way.

 

Take note, to fully mu a paint even all during sales, you likely spending like 500k on a single fully mu-ed paint,

 

so I would suggest you get that 3-4 sets of paints before you decide to go for a single fully mu-ed paint. like I did.

some people may ask, where is Rock, 

 

I would say, firebird's damage is full area damage, while twins can damage only 1 tank at a time. so Isida fire protection is more useful than isida twins in majority of battles. is it? ^_^

for those interesting ones, like Mars, and popular Raccoon, 

 

I would see Raccoon is more useful in drug war with unlimited health kit. where it is all about break through the camping team, Hammers, Vulcan, Railgun, Isidas. and use health kit against those interval damage weapon like fire, freeze, thunder, rico.

Hmm is emerald useful, and when will be become useless

When you get Prodigy/Clay. Emerald is still useful :3

But prodigi unlocks so late at Marshal... one can only gets it wit the Legend kit. It's inaccessible for most until then.
