How to get client+ for linux?

Recommended Posts

Hey,

I'm a Linux user with fps problems.

I currently use chrome and have managed to enable hardware acceleration. However after some time due to Tanki updates/ the fps is not good enough.

2 options I heard of (apart from all the usual suggestions)

1) How do I enable hardware acceleration on Linux on Firefox. This has been problematic in the past.

2) I want to download the client+( browser for Tanki) . how do I do this on Linux and if I do this will I have hardware acceleration enabled HENCE not a grainy image!?!

The best solution to this problem is to disable the hardware acceleration setting which is available in the three major browsers: Mozilla Firefox, Internet Explorer, and Google Chrome.

By disabling the hardware acceleration setting in a browser, you are forcing it to process all graphics with the GPU (graphics processing unit). This lessens the browser’s workload and helps you to speed up its function.

- Mozilla Firefox:

1. Click the Firefox Main Menu button in the top-right of the screen.

2. Click on Options.

3. Go to the advanced tab, and uncheck the option Use hardware acceleration when available. Then click OK.

Why would I disable hardware acceleration???? I want it so I can have a NoN GRAINY Tanki and high fps

E.g, If you use Chrome or Chromium browsers and hardware acceleration is disabled for your graphics card, you can try to force it to get better video playback performance (for instance on YouTube) as well as support for features such as the 3D Earth view in the new Google Maps.

As far as I know, you can currently opt in to hardware acceleration of layer composition by going to your options dialog, looking in the Advanced tab, and clicking on “Use hardware acceleration when available.”

However, most Linux systems come with Mesa drivers instead, which is a software (indirect) implementation of the OpenGL.
