The Hammer seems to be out of service

When I first bought the hammer, just when it came out, it was obviously very powerful and provided quite the punch, but it was an enjoyable gun, provided your own team-mates did not flip you over. However, I've been playing with it a bit since the last update, and it just seems lackluster. Power-wise, the Thunder packs almost the same amount of damage, has a huge range, and doesn't have to wait five exasperating seconds to reload after three shots. Granted, it damages itself when shot from close range, but the fact that it has long-range shots easily makes up for this, coupled with the fact that it works well with a heavy tank (as opposed to the Hammer). The punch the Hammer grants is weaker than before, and that was really what made it so good and so fun: the ability to flip opponents from close range. Finally, the shooting-multiple-opponents-with-one-shot only works from a certain distance, making it fairly useless on a bunch of maps. The Thunder is, once again, much better at this.

 

Soooooo, end rant. The point is, the Hammer has just become a less useful (and less used, from my experience) gun. I suggest that to remedy this, the punch should be brought up so that it actually can manage to flip tanks (only opponents). Otherwise, every time I've had the Hammer, I've felt like I wanted the Thunder instead. What do you guys feel should be changed?

Well, look at the rank difference... At M0 and M1, Turret A can be more powerful than Turret B, but at M2 and M3, it could be the other way around. I have tried out Hammer M0 on my alt, and its power has decreased hugely. However, Thunder has become way too powerful. It has about the same damage as Hammer, but with the following features:

1.) Long range

2.) Splash damage

3.) No spread.

 

The only way Thunder is weak is impact force, but if you can one-shot a hornet or wasp with DD before they can react, then there's no point in impact force.

You can't really look at the DP status of a weapon for real.. If so then also rail,shaft,smoky(crits) don't need impact force,they oneshot. Oh and also Hammer, yeah. let's leave it to twins and rico only because they don't oneshot with drugs.

 

Actually that "weak" impact force saved my hornet hundreds of times. .-.

At the moment I am primarily a thunder user.  Hammer is one of the few turrets I can not really cope with in any way unless I catch them from a long ways off, at medium range they can usually still get me.  And that is without drugs, with drugs a hammer can still utterly dominate several maps.  Hammer has a couple key advantages over thunder:

1) Significantly faster rate of fire for 3 shots

2) Far fewer resistance paints in circulation.  A majority of high level paints protect against thunder, especially the paints people tend to wear more often.  Effectively increasing the damage by 30-50% against most opponents.

neither hammer nor thunder is powerful anymore & i know the difference between the 2 & their weaknesses

Wait until you reach the M2 and M3 levels. You will very quickly change your mind. I use Hammer with Titan. Wrecking Generalissimos has never been easier!
