[Issue 35] Dissected: Top Tier Paints

Excellent top notch article due to the fact that you are 100% correct in the 5 paints you choose as making up a good garage.

I don't know how you came to that conclusion by the ton of writing you did but it certainly worked as I agree with your picks exactly.

Which paint is better: Lumberjack or Africa or Graffiti ?

*I know all three are good, but which one should consider buying first?

Thank You

I max needle to 50% smoky, 40% rico, 50% shaft.

it is good for long range map that you want to be able carry the flag back home when enemy shaft are present.

of course, there are more railgun than shaft, for light hornet, railgun can one shot kill you any way when run back home,

I used most time but I did feel pain from thunder, hammer a lot when running into enemy base. as I am a railgun user, I dont feel much a threat from enemy rail once you get used to railgun timing on a fast hull.

a quick suggestion will be much appreciated!

I'd probably stick around for a bit if you have a decent paint already, and save up for Clay.

What a very informing and correct article! Things like this are why I read the newspaper.

I must at least have some kind of brain in my head, or I just happened to pick the right ones, but of all the top tier paints that I own, 4 are in the green band, 1 in the yellow, and 1 in red. :D That gives me a ratio of 2 good paints for everyone 1 bad/meh paint.

Hope to see more posts like this!

I love Zeus, always wanted it for XP, and I believe 50% Firebird is worth talking about as it's quite potent.  I'm caught between a rock and a hard place of buying Zeus, Clay or Lumberjack.  I have Inferno so I know many will rule out Zeus for me already, but I love Zeus but, but but etc.

That leaves Clay and Lumberjack.  For me, I feel like Ricochet is not a big opponent in the maps I play at (Polygon, and small maps, sometimes Rio, Silence, and Serpuhov), so that leaves the 20% Thunder and 30% Railgun...and my Prodigi protects waaay more than that on both, so in a way, I feel like my Prodigi is better than Clay.

So Lumberjack.  Undisputable the King of close range, massive protections on all fronts.  Lumberjack will be a gameover paint at Island and Hill for sure, and sometimes Polygon.  But the protections of Fire and Freeze are similar/less than Inferno or Zeus, and to be honest, Isida isn't my biggest peeve.   Not to mention, I'm not crazy about the looks of Lumberjack, even though I like the look of that Red-Black checked shirt that it supposed to resemble, it looks poor on your tank because IMO the colors are dull and flat.

See? So I can basically eliminate any of them if I wanted to, and make either the shining star.  I really like Zeus's looks and it can be used in XP which is intimidating to some.  Clay is an awesome paint, when there's a Rico, he's toasted.  Lumberjack is the king of close range, but looks poor IMO.

I'm not interested in putting 100's of thousands of crystals into MUs of a paint, many will receive 4-5 per parameter and that's it.

So hard to choose....I might just buy them all.

I would prefer Inferno over Zeus. On Polygon CP the 23% Twins protection is much more valuable than the 50% Smoky. As for the price: the Inferno is 280k cheaper than Zeus if we compare fully MUd paints.

Rock seems to be excellent, but I think I would suffer against Firebirds. Nowadays I encounter much more Fire players than Freeze. So, I would go for Taiga (or Lumberjack then I will have Freeze prot).

Zeus and Rock is not on my shortlist now, but between these two I would definitely prefer Rock.

I own Needle and Cherry (got with kits) but rarely use them, I usually use Needle in XP battles where its only use is camouflage in bushes and aesthetics (looks better than green). I rarely found battles with group of annoying Smokies where it was handy.
