What do you do in your math class ?

I'm having 8 hours of maths each week which are separated in 2 different kind of maths. So i actually have 6 hours of 'normal' maths and 2 hours of 'a different kind of maths' that isn't compulsory. It's an extra 2 hours for which a curriculum doesn't exist. I just decided to take those 2 extra hours because I'm really interested in maths.

 

In the 6 hours of 'normal' maths, I'm learning more about integrals of all kind of functions and space geometry (with direction vectors, support vectors, ...)at the moment.

 

In the 2 hours of different maths, I'm learning more about functions we don't see in 'normal' maths (sinh(x), cos(h), tan(h), cot(h)) + hyperbole, parabola, ellipse. I recently learned how I need to make programs for my calculator myself. I've seen polar coordinates, another way of placing points in a coordinate system.

 

My apologizes if some of the mathematical terms are not completely correct. I'm having maths in Dutch. :P

- 8^th to 10^th: 5 hours

- 11^th & 12^th: choice between 2, 4 or 6/7 hours

We discussed on how 9 + 10 = 21  :ph34r: .

 

Here's wat we learned.

 

9 + 10 = 21

/ \    /\

3 3  2 5

|  |   |   |

3 5  2  3 (Add (3 X 5) and (2 X 3))

 

so, (3 X 5) + (2 X 3) = 21!

You just found product factors of 9 and 10, the sum is not actually 21  <_<  :rolleyes:

Are you me? No. I know what I meant. It was a picture. People post pictures. They have meaning as well. I explained why I posted it.

It's an explanation that sounds like a cover-up for something completely different. "a picture's more accurate than just words" - it's apparently not, given that it opened your post up to completely new perceptions, to the extent that in order for me to understand, you had to go out of your way to explain it, which, even at this stage, is hardly believable.

 

However, it's fine, pizzaslad, if you say you posted that picture for that reason, I'm not going to deter you. It all speaks for itself.

Someone girls spilled water on my worksheet, ripped it and then copied answers off it while I went outside to avoid doing something regrettable.

 

I stared them down through the window..... the teacher was just shaking her head...
