Tanki Offline

I am also thinking that when matches are over, if the teams are uneven, the computer should auto-balance the teams. and after a game, the computer should mix up the teams.

Please avoid to make quotes with multiple posts.

Not a bad idea, but with the time it could become bored.

Tanki Offline

When you can Play Tanki Offline:

You can play tanki without Internet or WiFi.

You can log in to the game but you can't play with your friends.

You only can do Tanki Challenges with time

The time will be stay on 1 minute, 5 minutes or 10 minutes

Like races but alone.

So you can try to break a new record offline.

Enjoy offline

Tanki is an MMO. It means that it is an online multilayer game. If you are offline, how do you expect other tanks to come? It will be just you roaming about alone in different maps.

Massively Multiplayer Online only means it is multiplayer through a Server. Tanki X is an MMO too.

I've got an idea which is sort of similar to these ones, but with one big difference. I'm not proposing a single player/offline mode, but rather a standalone app in which you can play with others on your local wifi (LAN, basically). As many people do not live near the servers, having a separate version of the game which can be played using your own wifi would mean you could host mini tournaments with your friends, not worrying about lag and all. While this might not be relevant to some, I see it as a step forward competitively, and casually.

An issue this might create -

Not being able to log in to your accounts (or if you could, then there might be problems associated with using accounts offline)

- Maybe upon startup you need to contact the TO servers once to log in to your account each time.

- If not logging in (as above) then there could be the option of using a "guest" account, which wouldn't have paints available, etc.

- (Probably the best option) Maybe the app could have no game progression, with access to simple versions of each turret and hull only (M1 or M2 of each, for example; no M3s).

The point of having a separate version of this game is so you can play locally with friends, without lag. This would be no threat to the online TO as it would lack features and the ability to play with anyone worldwide. However it would be extremely useful if you were organising a tournament of sorts.

I wasn't sure if I should have made a separate topic for this idea or not. It's different from the other ones on this thread... but still sort of similar. Can someone let me know if I should repost this as a separate topic? Thanks.

This could be added as an extra feature of Tanki Testing Tool.

If you volunteer to program it for free, and sign up to elimiate all the bugs in the new code for the term of the next 10 years either yourself or pay someone doing it for you, they might let you do it.

most of us thinking about only real time player but think this to we can practice & we can use bots as a targets to shot & it will give us so many advantages too if we can set them in hard in xp battle then they never gonna miss shots . wow :)perfect opponent

Tanki Offline

As everybody knows that we play against real people but why should not it be possible to play offline battles?

Why I'm writing that? Cause I sometimes get bad fps still I want to play and when I play against real guyz everyone calls me noob however I'm not a noob. Also , sometimes people don't have internet connection so they want to play offline.

Why shouldn't be BOTs in that game..

Oh god, I can not imagine an NPC Magnum, either it will have OP aim, or trash aim, TO is enjoyed with others, it shouldnt be made a game vs NPC's

The idea is to rectify the consequence of intenrnet connection being lost....when someone's ic is lost..instead of making his tank leave from the arena, a computer controlled tank will play in his place...when the connection resumes the player can control his tank again...this idea is useful for many players who have a problem with their ic.

Now that this topic from when I was a lot younger and better looking has been revived, I realized that this would be perfect for the TO Mobile App, which will allow the player to play CPUs when they're on the road and don't have any cellular service or internet connection.

CPUs are programmed to do certain things given certain situations and never change. They may be daunting at first, but after a while you'll be able to figure out how it behaves given certain situations. You will be able to think your way through an attack. A CPU can't think, only react. Once you have figured out it's behavior, you're almost guaranteed a win. It will no longer be your "go-to" game, but rather one to go to as an RK for you self esteem.

I think it would be really cool to destroy huge waves of AI tanks just with your tank camping behind a wall and just peeking out and shooting with deadly accuracy. To destroy hundreds and thousands of them...

Not necessarily. AI/Machine Learning is a field that is growing exponentially since it was first introduced. Now in video games, AIs behave extremely similarly to humans now after they observe human players.

However, considering the skill level of our developers, they will probably make the CPUs really trashy, at that point, this offline mode will just be you in a tank having to fend off waves and waves of CPU tanks.

Investing in a machine learning system for the sole purpose of powering bots in your online Flash game is probably not the best use of resources.

As you said, it's definitely not a good idea for a Flash game. But as TO becomes more mobile based, which we have been gradually doing so the past years, most players will be playing TO not at home. That said, it's very likely that you will not have wifi or cellular service sometimes, so an offline version of TO would make sense. Also, consider how TO is unable to add any more new features because it is too complex for the player to play using mobile only controls. I think at this point, a sort of capable machine learning system would make sense.

How many large-budget games have you seen with bots with machine learning AI? It's not really a practical application.
