What do you mean? Do you need a video editing software, or you just don't know how to upload videos to YouTube?

you can use the facetime to do the recording work. If you don't know where this app is, you can just input "photo booth" in the search column. the "photo booth" can not only take photos but take footages and output .mov video files. now do as follow to record:

 

1. open it:

 

2. click "record mode"

3. click the red icon in the middle to start recording and hit it again to stop recording.

4. remember to export like this:File->Export

 

Like i said, it output .mov file, the incompatible format with youtube. if you want to upload your video to it smoothly, you still need to use a video converter to help, and i think it's worthy to use. Hope that help.

How do I video on my laptop screen instead of myself

Open IMovie. Go to File -> Import From Camera. Click "Capture." Type in a new file name (or click the "Add to an existing event" radio button and type in the name of the project/event). Click "Capture." When finished, click "Done" .

 

If you want to put a video on YouTube and you have a camera on your laptop, just go to YouTube, sign in and go to upload video. Once there, you will see an option to record from webcam. That is the easiest way to get it done, because you just have to record it, and it goes right onto YouTube.

Launch QuickTime Player. It’s located in your Applications folder, which you can access quickly by typing Shift-Command-A, then pressing the letter Q.

Open a recording session. From the QuickTime Player File menu, select New Screen Recording.

Click the red dot in the middle of the Screen Recording window.

Determine the dimensions of the recording. You can click to begin recording, or click-and-drag to make a selection of just what part of the screen you wish to record. For this article, we'll select a smaller screen area.

Keep in mind, the larger the selection, the more disk space the recording will require. Only select as much of the screen as you need.

When you're ready to begin recording, press the Start Recording button in the middle of the selected recording area.

Wait a few seconds. It will take a couple moments for the recording to begin. When you see the recording timer start counting, it's safe to proceed with the actions you are capturing.

 

• Note: Once recording begins, you will not be able to screen-capture the Recording controller. This is so it doesn't appear in your final movie!
