It is extremly annoying to miss a gold box an inch from you, So I suggest that your weapons stop doing damage the second the "Gold Box will be dropped soon" sign appears

So then the bonus box thing would be to easy. Do we want drugging mammoths to take the gold box because we can't destroy them? NO.

The gold box is not a vital element of a battle, but rather just a small bonus added for excitement. Many players simply prefer to ignore the gold box completely and continue playing and they have the right to do it. Disabling damage during the gold box dropping will be unfair to those, who actually want to play the game. Besides, switching off damage won't solve your particular issue of "missing the gold box by an inch".
