Multing problem in Tanki Online

Decided to join EN server 2 for a change to get away from the mults and saboteurs that are widespread in the russian servers, even though I would rarely ever go to EN 2 (because battles become unbalanced with low ranks joining, and new players joining and leaving in a lot of these battles), just about find suitable battles in EN 1. But with the new missions introduced decided it would be easier to play there, besides at least I can communicate to the other players.

 

But guess what, we had some friends from ... yeah you guessed it. Came to gatecrash the party. I had 1 or 2 15 minute battles there before this small group entered together (russian players) and spoiled the fun. First battle we lost and team members on my side weren't to be seen, but I didn't figure anything dodgy was going on.

 

Second battle and we are leading 34-26 with 3 or 4 minutes to go, and everything just fell apart and match just reeked of cheating, so this time had to take screenshots

This happened for 2 more battles (against the same guys mainly) before I just gave up. I can't say 100% there was cheating absolutely going on because I have no proof. Just the coincidence that the mults always came on my team, and the timing in which they seemed to pop up.

The irony that most of the time they find their way onto the team I'm in, is not lost on me..I should have picked the other team ;)

I do not believe they are the main problem in Tanki.

The way I see it tanki is pretty healthy as a game, at least from the point of view of player experience if not retention.  Still far from perfect and if there is a single largest problem in my opinion it is too many one sided maps.  Where one team gets slaughtered and quits to the detriment of gameplay.  Multing is a large part of that and one of the most easily fixed. 

 

 

There is one thing users can do to minimize the harm from mults.  Restrict the lower ranks that can enter a battle.  I think a lot of people set the range as low as possible in order to secure a better advantage.  However most people with several accounts will only have one at a higher rank, their alternate accounts being just high enough to join the average battle.

Case in point.  The mults added were of a much lower rank and could have been excluded.  It isn't a foolproof tactic but it would at least mean fewer people can mult.

I see generalismo rank mult with m0 combo all the time.   ;)

 

rank is not a solution.

It is not an end all be all, but it will reduce the number of mults.  Few people have access to multiple generalismo accounts, a person could always call in their buddies but it is harder for two people to conspire with one of them sitting there bored in m0 than for one person to open a new tab and check back occasionally to keep it from being timed out.  I am not saying restricting rank is a silver bullet any more than favoring shorter battles but it does prevent some people from multing.

They already cut back on how low/high of ranks are allowed to be in a battle compared the person creating it, and you want to cut back on it again? :huh: I really don't think it would work, as it didn't have an effect before.

I'm not saying to change what is allowed, I am asking people who create matches to limit it themselves because doing so is in their own best interest.

ok but you couldn't ignore me last night :D

 

 

They would just need a PRO pass.   Also nobody should trolling anybody.  Clan's should be using PRO passes for clan wars anyway.  If it gets rid of all the mults, most of the players would be happy. 

no just no.. ip checks would ruin it. doing something like adding an acuracy percentage into the score table could help prevent players from multing as if below a certain percentage then boot

 

I usually do.  He is trying to get a world record for the most haters.  LOL

Require one legitimate e-mail address per account. No duplicate accounts under the same e-mail. During registration, have the process send a specific but random/jumbled text/numeric code and then have the e-mail respond within a certain amount of time. Once used, that e-mail is permanently on record on the server. 

 

Something like that.

I really don't think vote kick system in game is a good idea, i've realized majority of the community is quite underage and immature. The system would be a means of grief and trolling and likely lead to low player retention.
