That is true... there's always those other ways, haha.

which

It`s been made very clear in the past & now the problems that exist & people have countless times made the feelings felt

but tanki needs to listen more

shame you cant mentally digest that.

clearly doesn't comprehend, yet has the audacity to criticize the mentality of others.

Clearly they do & that`s why if you have the gumption to comprehend simple communication you would of seen that many have given an opinion

that makes sense & it`s obviously something your never be able to do.

You mean that doesn't not that wont qualify. the topic was created for the feedback of this experiment & which should of been tested in the test server & AGAIN plenty of people have replied & it`s blatantly obvious that the MAJORITY do not like it & it does not take hours or days to work that out sorry if that`s cofusing for you ;) .

Well you see i have plenty to back my claims it`s quite amusing that you do not have the ability to GRASP what has been said

i don`t need to insult that`s the lowest form of a defense that i shall leave to people like you my little uptight friend

and as for immature :D  it`s pitiful & tragic that you use a gaming site in an attempt to cause drama with someone like me ;)

which let me tell you now is a battle you will not EVER win but if you wish to carry this on feel free to PM or if you have the IQ or we can carry this on in the main topic but i unlike you have respect for people that deserve it & will not use a topic for your little rants.

now run along & grow up before you start trying to convserse with the adult world.

#GoodBoy

the fact that you are an adult and just spent more than 5 minutes writing up all this gibberish that has absolutely nothing to do with what I wrote above makes me feel quite sorry for you. I do agree however that you should refrain from prolonging this discussion in order to avoid further ridicule. Have a good day.

He stated his point of view, and you might as well have written an essay about how he was a terrible person for doing so, and how only your point of view can be right... Good job...

Anyways, now I'm going to stay out because you're just going to continue anyways.

you can't "fix" multing or hacking or anything that is generated by the users. Tanki isn't here to babysit you.

If you eased up on arguing semantics, perhaps you could fathom that any organization with a development team can "fix" any problem they CARE too.

Unless, of course, you personally don't wish to see them fixed.

-There have been several (ignored) solution paths submitted to Tanki over the years to address multing.

-It would be nothing for Tanki to perform polls of variables and cull out the hackers who are changing their stats locally.

To post details for theoretical fixes would waste all of our time..

I am a seasoned software developer. There is no need for your derogatory suggestion of babysitting. Instead, I counter that Tanki has indeed created a software gaming environment that contains unintended exploitable weaknesses which have not been addressed.. instead we get poorly tested "enhancements" like mouse control that impact shaft aiming and this camera speed change which was not so good for many railgunners.

I disagree with the above comment. While I know Tanki isn't here to babysit us, Tanki is here to police their game and enforce their rules.

Enforcing the "no hack" rules could be done by developers who could include code in their flash client that would either:

  1. Periodically compare the values in memory that contain the parameters for the current turret, hull, and paint with saved original values and report discrepancies back to the game server. The server would log the first five occurrences of  discrepancies for a tanker in a battle.
  2. Periodically send the values in memory that contain the parameters for the current turret, hull, and paint back to the server where these values could be compared against the actual values sent to the client. Again the server would log the first five occurrences of  discrepancies for a tanker in a battle.

The logs could then be later examined and tankers with a history of operational parameter changes (hacking) could be barred!

If Tankers who cheat by "Hacking" were easily caught and "barred", those first caught would be eliminated from the Tanki community and after hearing about the first group of barred hackers, others would probably discontinue their hacking for fear of losing their Tanki accounts.

No type of software will prevent someone from joining a battle and doing nothing at all. My reaction was towards the term fix. If you want something specific from tankionline, you need to be specific as well with your requests. How do you define fix with regards to multing?

To make a simple analogy, as a person who has been going to the gym for several years, I have seen a lot of people coming to the gym and having as a goal to "get that lean belly". Most of them give up after a couple of months. You need to be specific with your goal. I want an X amount of body fat percentage, a Y amount of weight. Then you can measure exactly whether you are coming closer towards your goal, or not.

Using such a general term as fix, without defining exactly what you mean by it, will only create confusion and thus those responsible for the development of this game will ignore your requests.

This board is filled with nonsensical over generalized and sensational posts, that have absolutely nothing to do with how the real world operates, and when you point out the fallacies, everyone just gets mad. That is my final input on pretty much everything.

I am just disgusted by the reaction of the Tanki community to this update. You crusty old Gissimos are so set in your ways, so resistent to change, and so horribly unappreciative. Tanki is going to evolve. You can either accept it, and enjoy the ever-changing nature of Tanki Online, or you can yell at poor old Semyon every time he announces the culmination of weeks of work of the developer team. Just look at the front page -- a bunch of stuck-up Gissimos whining about an update that they haven't even tried yet, as evidenced by the time stamps.

I know that this post is going to get downvoted like every post of Semyon's, and that I have no hope of changing the way the Tanki community reacts to change in the future. So, I really don't know why I'm writing this. But I am.

Oh my god  ^_^ I couldn't stop laughing for about 15 minutes... Nice rant BTW all you people started hating straight away without playing, I did too but once I played for about a day I got used to it.

Well you can. The kick system, a better anti-hack system that doesnt trigger randomly.

Is it true that the old camera is back? And no announcement yet from devs that it was done?

Took them 5 hours to announce this experiment. Give them time, at least they did it

I'm so disgusted that you just insulted a bunch of people who said that they preferred the old way they have been playing for years. Noob First Lts. dont even know much about gameplay on comparison to Gissmos. A complete change in gameplay completely crashes game value, its like having to start over again. Suck it up, but nobody likes much gameplay changes, and everyone complains. We dont need people commenting on how people dont like changes

OK Lets look at the truth.

  • This was first brought up in the RU forum in May of 2013. So it is not new. They have had lots of time to figure it out.
  • It effects certain players in a negative way. Motion sickness and vision issues.
  • If they plan on leaving it, it should be an optional adjustment. This is not very difficult to adjust.
  • They probably only added it to fool players into thinking "Oh look at least they are still making improvements".
  • It is and always was partly adjustable, if use the console (ctrl+shift+k). By the way why is this information about the console not in the EN Wiki but it is in the RU one? Very interesting. Kinda makes me wonder what other advantages and secrets the Russian players have.
  • It took them minutes to alter a couple of defaults in a configuration file but they can't seem to be able to turn it back. Another load of crap. I think I'm going to buy a shovel and some rubber boots soon. It's getting kinda deep in here.

I've never seen a Canadian become this angry before

On a serious note, it's clear that either the developers are so swamped with projects that they cannot take a few minutes out of their day to restore the camera speed, or the change is here to stay. My money is on the latter, since history has shown that unpopular updates will remain in the game regardless of the amount of criticism it draws. I'm not one to stereotype but I have a feeling that the administration would not be so stubborn if the game were based in the EU or the US; at least there, their business practices aren't half as shady!

More truth. I like it.  I think it comes down to EGO. Somebody has a real hard time admitting when he has made another mistake so updates stay regardless of what we want as players. Unless Tanki HQ addresses the EGO, switching to Unity will not save them. Flash is not the issue, poor management is.  They are definitely masters of deception. They distract you over here, while doing something else over there.

This is a really terrible update. I went on vacation for like 1 month and when I come back, it's completely different. I'm a ricochet player and i self destructed quite some times. Please don't add this to the game.
