Is TO losing players? - Analysis

 Share

Recommended Posts

I believe that everyone is aware of the fact that Tanki is actually losing players. Most battles are empty and more than 50 percent of the players currently playing are newbies.

There was a time when battles were always full. Players rushed to join them. More than 100,000 players used to be online at a time.

Things have really changed. The server load graph is really suffering.

It didn't cross the 70,000 mark even once this week. I joined tanki in the late 2013 and I remember that the server load graph crossed over 125,000 players.

So, why is this happening? Why is everyone starting lose interest in the game? Is the extinction of the game near? Is it because of the updates that the developers are releasing or players started to think that there are better games than TO? If TO is really losing players, what shall be done?

I heard that this result is related to seasonal changes.

However, when I was there previous year(maybe 1 2 month later), there were about 70-75k players

Seasonal changes? Hmm..weird.

Nice point supratik..... I dunno. Maybe the newbies are not exactly the best people to come across tanki? Or the updates?

It's probably the updates. The new "experiment" gives me a headache.

Oh, and most of the core generation tankers (who have stuck with the game since early years) have left due to... personal reasons like studies, etc. (hope so)

Not many tankers leave due to personal reasons. That doesn't effect the server load graph at all.

We even had 70.000 players on this year of TO's Birthday. Last year we had 129.000! Isn't that a little bit weird?

Ofcourse it is!

Maybe the game is getting a bit too complicated for newbies (too much to take in)

Agreed. Many high ranker players are also starting to leave.

The game then was pretty buyer-oriented. Therefore, there were numerous sales, double funds, to keep free players interested and believe in the light at the end of the tunnel. Cybersports was part of the community activities. There were a lot of activities. To me, it was like a fighting game.

Now after "smart drugs" update, crystal update, the games become fairer and simpler. Long breaks among sales, lower learning curve as a result make the game more of a casual game. Free players, the source of skilled players, challenges and tatgets for buyers, get boring, and quit. Then buyers quit next, or stop playing.

I am observing one rule of economy : promoting equality makes the economy pie smaller.

I think that is what Tanki have done lately, trying to knock the game off balance again.

Smart supplies ruined the game.

They isn't that advantage anymore, the rank ranges need to be expanded, otherwise higher ranks and lower ranks never play each other..

Everything at higher ranks is too expensive, Battle funds are too low ...

The rebalance killed tanki, thats when people started leaving on mass and lastly tanki doesn't listen to players mainly english players

I blame non buyers, always complaining.

the reason is cuz of crystal boxes being removed and bad updates being added to the game like if the experiment of the camera speed goes a ''success'' and if it is added to the game permanently i will quit tbh

True. Reached last rank on last week of January 2015. Then, enterd only for daily rewards. And, the thing that annoys me, are those OP kits (remember "Jackhammer Kit" ?)...

I might join when the "Daily Missions" update will come. But, I want more crystals rewards, not supplies. I got enough !

Because crystals boxes are removed and players have to play long battle to earn crystals but if they lost the battle they get less crystals + time waste and also the price of equipments is very high and micro upgrade also cost very high price.

There is nothing to discuss, as the reduced number of players is a typical seasonal change.

Hello guys.

As you know Tanki's population dropped from 100,000/90,000 players a day till 60,000 a day. Since the daily missions came out 10,000 players have came on top of the 60,000 a day so now its 70,000 for last two days. Isn't that amazing guys?

Let's support tanki to create more cool updates to increase our population - the latest release of Daily Missions perhaps gave us 10,000 players back into the game.

Special thanks to all those who held in tanki after a lot of horrible updates, 1 more thing guys. There where many updates that we disliked and it was more then 3, only bit by bit left and now look for 1 update we got extra 10,000 players into the game. 2-3 more good updates such as daily missions and we're back into full swing guys :D

Spread the word ''Daily Missions live in Tanki'' via social media to get our population growing back again

Let's get the third day going:

no need to worry abt tanki bcoz these are seasonal changes. many players have exams or go for vacations this time of year so they dont play. dnt wry the no. of the players will increase soon bt tanki needs to do some more awesome updates like daily missions, that is true :D

You shouldn't just check player numbers, you should also check player "qualities".

I think that this 10k more players clearly show nothing because they were probably someone collecting daily gifts or some players power-leveling characters.

I also consider why Tanki looks indifferent to this decreasement on this way. Probably this 40k players wasn't buyers, or they increased buyers.
