I'll add a few:

 

Outscoring your overachieving friend who always scores more kills than you.

Getting into a one-on-one shooting match with somebody, both your tanks are almost dead, but he blows up first.

Jumping off a high place, tumbling like crazy, and somehow landing right-side-up.

Dropping a mine out in the open, and then maneuvering an opponent into driving over it.

Ruining someone else's kill streak.

Using a Ric to kill someone who's out of sight, using only bounce shots.

Taking a solid hit from someone, and realizing that your brand-new paint just saved your life.

Pushing someone off the edge of the map before they can kill you.

i once had a last second cap and once i joind a battle a few seconds later got a goldbox and left the battle

Once I joined random Ping-Pong match. When I joined with my parkour combo of Shaft and Wasp (I forgot to change), a gold box fell on me.

I think those 2 players there were mad at me!  :P  :lol:

I was once in a serp. CTF. My team was playing... pathetically meh... I had got one of our 2 flags, the other one was complete luck the other guy got it. I literally captured the flag and the match ended. SUCH A GOOD FEELING.

Jumping From  high platform carying a flag...making a double kill while falling witch inflicts into a barrel roll,geting the gold box while still falling and landing on ur team's flag,capturing the enemye's flag in the last seconds, all that while ur name is on top of list With a masive D/L  ...and u got that D/L by druging ,using the brand new tank witch u just buyed  :3

All four of the gold boxes I've taken have been pretty much accidental -

 

1) a bunch of players annihilated each other, and I just walked in and took it

 

2) I "spawned" on the floor of Madness right next to a gold box. No one else was near, and I couldn't believe my eyes. I crawled over to it, and it was mine

 

3) In Rio, at one of my favorite Shaft sniping spots, I saw the drop zone being drawn right in front of me and just patiently waited for the box to drop (I gulped down a repair box just to increase my chances of surviving long enough...)

 

4) In Garder, I was up on the catwalk and saw the box land. There was someone coming from the other side, but I got there first.

 

So, even for those of us who are only moderately skilled, gold boxes sometimes do happen...     :)

 

An update...

 

5) I don't remember details, but I just joined the pile-up of everyone else trying for the gold, and ended up on top.

 

6) In Rio, on the elevated part away from the beach, I saw the gold box symbol appear, with no one else around, so I just waited and grabbed it.

 

7) Today (9 sep 2015 - IDAD (International Date Agreement Day - ask me about it via PM in the Forum   :)    )) Polygon CP. Just kept pushing my Hornet M1 Isida M1 into the crowd, and somehow was awarded the box.

 

No, I don't expect too many people to be interested, but it's a way for me to keep a record of my golds...     :)

10) Picked up yet another one today - I think it's the first one that counts for the new stats/profile system. Polygon. Don't remember if it was CTF or CP. Isida M2 on Hornet M2, and my usual plain green paint. Apparently, the box had fallen onto a pile of dead tanks,and was just sitting there. I pushed my way into the pile, along with everyone else who was still alive, and got the box!   :)

11) After a bit of a dry spell, I got a gold box today. Yippee!

 

Magistral CP. Using my M0 Thunder (I try to drag my noob weapons out of the garage once in a while so they don't rust...) on M2 Hunter, with Tundra paint (or maybe Storm?).

 

Saw it falling out of the sky from a distance, drove over, and it was already on the ground. Maybe one or two other tanks going for it, but I got there first.

 

And, as usual, I didn't have the presence of mind to look at my crystal count before to verify that Tanki actually gave me the 1000 crystals - but I did see my name at the top of the screen, so I'm happy...     :)
