For those who like math challenging problems :)

No. 1

How high above the earth u must be to see 20% of the earth surface area? (Earth radius = 6371km)

No. 2

The volume of the rectangular prism is 63cm^3
The height of the prism is 7cm

what is the smallest possible surface area of this prism?

For the first one are you assuming the earth is flat and second how are we looking at it and the second one is a joke btw it is cm^3not cm^2 for vollume

its calculus and you have to create an equation then take the derivative me too lazy but first differentiate before tooooo much work... also what kind of prism

answer is 102 cm^2

First try: 92.44 cm^2

The prism is actually a cylinder.

Do you approve ?

english is my 3rd language I dont know exact names of these..I found onwiki its called rectangular prism Ill fix it

There is nothing to fix for you in this context.

A prism is a prism, whether it is rectangularly standing up or slant.

A cylinder is a special prism, with a polygon of infinite edges as its basis, right ?

For myself Eng is the first foreign language.

I'm just a technician,

not enough brains to make it in any science.

What about my submitted result ?

your result is correct :)  for infinite edges is pretty easy lets try to do it with 4 edges this one is quite tricky

You mean a cuboid based on a 9-cm^2-square ?

I can't see why this should be trickier than the original question.

I guess your result is based on the fact that the sqare has smaller survace area than rectangle in general

or not?

That's what I wanted to express, yes.

A square does more resemble a circle than any other rectangle.

nub prism...cylinder is not a prism

Why can't a cylinder be a prism,

or why can't a circle be a polygon, in that matter ?

Try to draw a triangle, then a quadrangle, a pentangle, ,,,

go on with that 'til Kingdom come ...

Then take a closer look at it -

doesn't it look like a circle, come on !

It will pass for a circle.
