What about support? Other ways?

It was the 5th case I've heard about, when the account owner completed the "theft form" as perfectly as possible and the answer was: no.

I think Tanki have to create another account returning/defending system as soon as possible. If you want a reason, I can say: this form and way is pretty hard to the younger tanki generation.

 

I haven't got any problem with the current system. If anybody stupid, his account will be stolen. But what can he do then?

Well, if you make a simpler form to make returning of the account easier, it will also make it easier to steal accounts. The current system is fine - it is strict enough to prevent other persons from trying to steal accounts, but still helps honest players.

Streamlining the recovery process would not help the severe theft problem in the current system.  It requires some type of technician reviewing each claim and inevitably ends up as a cumbersome and resource consuming process.

 

It would be cheaper, simpler, and much more effective to focus on prevention.  Record recent login ips in a place visible to the user, allow secondary verification through phone or email for new ips, and offer crystal incentives for people who set a recovery email.  With these steps in place you could have fewer support staff handling stolen account claims.
