personally...i dont see how this will impact gameplay in any other way other than to increase rampant use of supplies in random battles

If one mission is to pick up 7 armor drops then why would I do anything else in the round other than camp out at drops?

Don't you see how this is a disaster for team play?

1150 crystals to change a mission?  This seems a bit steep and at face value is another attempt to wring crystal sales out of players.  The fee to change a mission should be nominal if not free.  Players already complain about the price of pro passes at 5000 a month, if you want to encourage participation in daily missions drop the fee for changing the mission.

You are not paying attention: you get one free change each day, then you have to pay.  If you can't do / just hate the ones given you will have to wait.  The missions are not supposed to be a direct shipment of crystals and supplies to your garage.

If not then what is the point of doing the missions?

So that you have to work in order to get the supplies and crystals, but you will get more than before.

the price for changing a mission is too much

Well, you don't have to change them... and anyways, you can change the first one free.

Don't think you can cry about it here as it's test server. not as if its cost you anything.

yes i agree it dont cost me anything but it shows people are still hacking and not getting the real hackers banned.

look at it this way if they can do it in the test server what do you think they will be able to do in the real game?

Well, more people hack in the test server because they know they won't get caught or reported, because even if they get reported, they lose nothing. If they do it in the real servers, they know they're likely to get caught, so they will be less likely to try.

Well, sorry, but when I tried it, as well as someone else, it didn't work -_-

Even though only for a short time for each player. It says about ten boxes for the mission.

It takes you so short of a time to find the "real" motivation because you're only seeing what you want to see. You think that Tanki wants to ruin gameplay for all, and therefore you think that that is the purpose behind every update. How could Tanki save crystals??? Crystals mean nothing to them. It's an in-game currency, and I suggest you remember that ;)

Most of the missions are ones that actually require you to do well, so they won't really be encouraging selfish gameplay. The only one that might do so is collecting boxes, and those missions would be completed fast anyways.

I see you're one of the players who always sees the worst in updates, even when it's not there.

You must be new here :)

It's all about the money, soon you will realize.

So that you have to work in order to get the supplies and crystals, but you will get more than before.

So, lets see:

Mission : cap 3 flags, get 1,000 crystals. So I join a round, cap 3 flags, then quit.

Mission: pick up 7 armor boxes, get something in return. So again, join a round, camp out near drops, take 7 drops, quit.

Not really sure how this is harder or more work overall, yet, it has great potential to completely destroy team matches as people join just to complete missions.

This seems to be a major disaster in the making.

my thoughts on the daily missions that i tested today.

the missions themselves

------

get 7 double power

capture 3 flags

earn 300 xp in sandbox

I completely agree with what was said earlier

" With a mission like "Catch 10 Speed Boost" other tankers won't focus on the actual game, instead of ctf it would be like stsb (steal the speed boost)"

the missions need to be tied into objectives around the game e.g. get 7 double powers and kill X tanks (or get Y points).

That would encourage people to come in and play the game rather than just achieving the missions and leaving e.g. stealing the boxes.

the capture the flags objective is good because it should encourage teamwork. It may also encourage those cheats who sabotage their teammates e.g. by blocking a capture or pushing over a cliff to get the flag etc.

It is good that it does actually check there is an opponent when you capture the flag !!

Other possible tougher missions that encourage "playing the game" could be:

be in the top 5 people for xp on your side at the end of the battle

I didn't go for the get 300xp in sandbox. I hope it would change the map every day as there are some maps I won't play and I know other players  are the same.

buy a mission

----

I misread the first one and ended up buying a different one by mistake.

so there could be a few of those at go live. hopefully there will be a wiki page/accountment that makes it clear how it works

I'm an adult so I should not have made that mistake.

If I didn't like the missions then I probably wouldn't buy another one and just leave it.

If someone is going to buy a new mission (XXX cry) then the value of the new mission should be at least the value of the cost of switching (XXX) and then some more (YYY). Otherwise there is no value in switching because if the total value of the new mission is not much more than XXX then why complete it?

If I got too many boring missions or ones I didn't like then I would quickly give up on it completely and perhaps look in every so often

Mission info link on the missions dialog box

---

there was no wiki page which is to be expected as this is a test system.

Mission completion

----

there is no real notification of completion of a mission beyond the change to the missions icon.

It would be nice if it gave some visual notification e.g. a message to say that the "capture the CTF" mission had been completed.

Please don't make the only notification audio (e.g. a sound). Some people like me have to play with no sound. (that makes using the hammer an interesting experience !!!! )

why do I need to go in and claim the reward?

It would be better if the reward was just given like when a player ranks.

If a player logged in the following day would they be able to claim the reward for the day before?

If a player couldn't claim a previous reward then a cynical person may think it was a way to avoid paying out successful missions if people forget to make the claim.

would a player be able to see a history of past daily missions?

sometimes it is nice to see past achievements lol

Daily gifts vs Daily missions

-----

Daily missions are probably fairer for tanki because you have to do something to earn the benefits

However daily gifts are very useful for new players who are looking to build up stocks etc.

If everyone is competing for the same things e.g. the speed ups then it could be a lot harder to achieve the missions

it would be interesting to see how many people actually take this up. i suspect only the regular hardened gamers would go for more than 1 each and every day they come on.

I come on almost every day and play for several hours and I would login and see what the missions are and only play them if they fit with my expected gameplay. I probably wouldn't change my gameplay to achieve a mission.

the game and the server

---

In terms of playing the missions I didn't spot any actual bugs e.g. things not being counted etc.

the server was slow but it isnt a prod server.

I didnt check but it felt like the rewards were lower than the corresponding daily gifts (as Colonel level)

So my view would be keep the daily gifts.

I suspect the decision has been made to replace them and it is just a case about how to make daily missions work best.

wait, couldn't people just log on to their alt accounts, play, just to get the rewards?

(E.G) Win two battles in first place, you have two people, your main and your alt

My missions were:

Capture 10 points (CP)

Earn 300 EXP in DM mode

Win 2 battles in first place
