Organize Battles by equipment, not rank

Organizing battles by rank leads to some large differences in power between players.  Rank is not as important as equipment in terms of having players be relatively equal to one another.  Battles should instead be formed based on equipment levels.

 

Just add up equipment levels for turrets and hulls, assign ranks to paints and you're done.  Ignore MU's for this purpose so that paying players have the usual advantage.  Then team up players with as close to the same numbers of points as possible.

 

This should encourage players to buy more stuff as well.  Anyone who is higher rank and has some extra crystals can buy m0 turrets and hulls and go play them without having to bring them up to their current level.

 

However if you change to a different level hull or turret in battle and it's a different level, you get warned that your chosen equipment will get you booted from the battle.

 

I think this might help in creating better battles.

I agree...because I'll be playing with poeple with M2 while I still have M1. That's not fair at all! By the way poeple are buying crystals which means foir them it is easy to get M2 while I'm here trying to earn my way up to like 60-80k to get m2????

I can easily kill people with M2, and I have just M1. If you have skill, u can kill almost anything :D

BTW, so many people are easily to be tricked and killed... so many are noobs :P

I know where your coming from but there should be no need to fight people with M2s when I have M1 just because are wasting money on this game...Now I'm not discouraging buying crystals but they should fight with the people that have the same equiptment as them...Not Rank!

I still think developers know verry well what to do and almost all time what is better for all players. (except some bad updates like removing moonsilence map and cry boxes)

What do you mean? are you saying they should play by rank or equipment? Anyways I go for playing as the same equipment not rank!

I mean the game is good as we know now. Anyway... what happends if i have just my turret or just my hull M1 ?

Well you play with people that only have a turret or hull M1... :)

I think it makes more sense this way.

The problem is what happens when you have a hull of one level and a turret of another (says M2 hull and M3 turret)? Which battle can you join then?

There would be a level for that.  Or if there aren't enough players, this would be lumped into a lower or higher level.

I would argue that it makes more sense to base the grouping criteria on the turret more than the hull.

 

Thus, someone with M3 turret + M2 hull could join M3 battles whereas someone with M2 turret + M3 hull would join M2 battles.

As much as I think this is a bad idea I admit it would be fun to be able to fully MU an m0 and equip my mu'd prodigi and go around wrecking people just starting the game.  Could max out an m0 for less than the cost of an m3 and it'd be a bit like twinks in wow.  Except you'd still get experience for it.  Plus there would be no need to buy expensive new equipment to stay competitive since you could always stay at your old equipment level as you keep ranking up.

You're right.  It's a flaw in the plan.  There would have to be a mechanism that would "kick people upstairs."  And that would make it more complicated.  Perhaps it's not such a great idea after all.

And if a skiled generalissimo (it's almost an expert now, not a newbie) with M0 fully MU is fighting with some Recruits that even don't know to move the turret?

No, this idea shall not be implemented. As it has been mentioned above, someone of great skill could decide to use low modification equipment, but mow everyone on the battle field down due to the fact that the skilled player knows the ropes, whereas the novice who has no choice but to use their low modification equipment will never become better, because he's constantly being killed with no chance at victory. The ranks system has been put in place to keep gameplay fun for all, and to allow players to acquire more skill as progress in their career.
