BP: The Unpopular Twin of XP

 Share

Recommended Posts

As most of you know, XP is the big craze nowadays. You will find a XP combo in almost every battle. However, XP has a nearly unknown twin format. BP. How often do you see a BP battle? From what I have observed from the test server, BP takes alot more skills. Higher speed, lower weight, and being able to control wasp. Even with a bigger challenge, XP is still more popular. Is BP dying? Is BP already dead? Discuss below.

BP isn't exactly unpopular. Quite alot of players equip BP as their main combo, just as that of many players using XP as their main combo. There are many XP/BP battles alongside XP battles as well. According to what I have observed, there are more BP players in XP/Bp battles than that of XP ones.  ^_^

When you think format you usually think XP, from what I gather from my friends. BP is definitely superior to XP, if you know how to use it ;).

With Wasp - you can make a lot more difficult shots with ease - compared to XP which relies on your timing and judgement... Thiass helps improve the player :)

What are the rules on paint for BP matches? Do they allow protection for surviving x number of shots, or does the lower survivability without defensive paints act as the price you pay for more speed? I don't have a pro pass atm so I can't check the restrictions, and I can't find the thread about them.

For M2 BP, you can use any paint that has 20% rail protection. For M3 BP, you can use paints with 10% rail protection or no protection at all. Keep in mind that the protections have to be STOCK protections. They can't be microupgraded.

Isn't there a separate section for discussing Format Battles?

Anyway, I think BP is hugely underestimated. Take for proof the article Fen-Harel wrote on XP vs BP.

Frankly I've never had much time for Wasp :P It's still M0 compared to my Hornet M2.
