New concept for CTF

As we all know CTF is one of the most popular game modes in tanki. As we all know players like to mult, sabotage, and drug. Mults and players who sabotage cause a team to lose. Players who drug have an insane advantage over those who dont. We all know that one person drugging will encourage others to drug.

 

Drugging sometimes leads to one team having control over another teams base. It becomes ridiculous because that team will have to fight for their base instead of for the flag. This happens mostly in Noise which has become a popular map that replaced the popularity of Silence. The blue team will have control of the red team and Just keep killing them at respawn. The red team does it to but they dont have such an easy escape unless they are camping on the 2nd level.

 

Suggestion: There shouldnt be a whole team at another teams base and all of them shouldnt be on drugs at the same time.

 

Stalemates sometimes leads to a battle not growing in funds and players camping the whole time because as far as i have seen stalemates can go on for as long as 20 minutes. If there is no progress in the battle then there really is no point in fighting because both teams will be camping and surrounding the one who is holding the flag.

 

Suggestion: Stalemates should last for 10 minutes in battles that are longer than 20 minutes to prevent sabotage, and to help the battle continue in the way it was.

 

When a flag is out of its "base" for to long it means that a player is either camping with it or waiting to give it to a teammate. Thats nice and all but the progress of the battle will be delayed.

 

Suggestion: A flag should automatically be returned in 5 minutes if not captured so the battle can continue.

 

Players who dont even help capture flags but sabotage to get one normally end up in first place by either using viking or dictator to flip someone who has the flag and then take it. They also may have a lot of kills from of course kill stealing which doesnt really matter anymore but that still means they are not really doing anything on their own. Kill stealing still wastes your ammo and causes you the need to reload and die faster.

 

Suggestion: Please come up with a new scoring and rewards system.

 

Sometimes when one team is winning and they start to lose flags to another team they will start scrambling towards their base and after that no one could really get in.

 

Suggestion: The whole team should not be in the same position of their base.

 

There is another thing that causes players to lose. To many heavy hulls in one base. Its not gonna be any fun taking them down and you cant do hit and runs if they are sitting on the flag.

 

Suggestion: Limit the amount of heavy hulls in low ranked battles to 2 and that of high ranked battles to 3.

When one team dominates it isn't fun for either side.  Early termination criteria would be great.  However on some maps wiping the entire enemy base is the only way to take out a flag without drugging.

Stalemates are a good thing.  It means a battle is close and teams are evenly matched. It is unlikely the battle fund isn't growing since people are still attacking to kill the flag carrier.

This only reduces the available strategy players can draw from.  Not for the best.

This is called defending.  The team was formerly over-confident and neglecting defense. 

 

 

 

Suggestion: Limit the amount of heavy hulls in low ranked battles to 2 and that of high ranked battles to 3.

Most players use light hulls because it is more fun to move quickly, not because it is more effective in battle.  Heavy hulls dominate defense in many maps.  For good reason.  Why give an extra hand out to the already too popular light hulls?

  1. Drugs aren't infinite, so if are skilled enough you can easily destroy campers at your base. If your team or equipment is weak - that is your problem.
  2. Stalemates are an interesting and dynamic change to the gameplay. Battles aren't all about fun - 
  3. What if the player is stuck in a situation where he is surrounded by enemies and is hiding with a flag until teammates arrive to help? Or is simply taking a long route around the map to confuse the enemy? Or is in a slow, heavy hull?
  4. If the player is sabotaging your team - report them with a video or using /vote command
  5. This is strategy. Why do you think that staying at their base and defending should not be allowed?

  1. I know that drugs are not infinite, unless you are that rich you can afford it. No it is not  my problem if my teams equipment is  weak and not up to date. Am i the one earning crystals for them no? If they cant at least try to make a difference for themselves thats not my problem.

Stalemates are interesting but there are battles out there, especially in dusselldorf or stadium where you can sit there for 30 minutes trying to get your flag returned and the other team is just surrounding the person with your flag. I have been in this situation before stadium lost its popularity to Monte Carlo. 
  3. Stuck. That is their problem. Havent you played in noise and seen when red teams players just camp on that ramp with so many turns and sometimes they even take the flag there and keep it there for so long? Well i have and its usually a Viking+Hammer M3. Heavy hull. Okay thats their problem because unless its a small map, the only hull closest to a heavy hull you should use is Dictator because its fast and has sufficient health. 
  4. Recording causes lag, and its ro much work to get a person banned for a single day. Normally when i report someone and its quite severe i put in a request "Please ban this player for a week" and i state the reason. MODS have told me not to do that however. Also the /Vote Nickname command doesnt even work, Mods never come and the only time they ever came was to my rank up party and banned ME!!!!!?????
  5. With everyone staying in the same portion of the base makes no sense because your not making use of the whole map and no one from that team is gonna try and get the flag.
  6. Thanks, i to made a topic about the model or version of a turret/hull you can bring to a battle and how many of those turrets and hulls can be in a battle. That idea however recieved to much hate and its still there in the forum since November i think.

Personally, i can agree with half of them, but disagree with them too. 

I agree with the "whole team at the base", "new scoring system", and suggestion number 5.

Thanks for your support but you really want to go to most high ranked battles and see most of them have so many M3 Mammoths and Titans camping in the base?

I am not sure this is true.  Players do not spawn at the same time so campers can focus fire on each one as they spawn.

I hatr saboteurs. Just yesterday I was holding blue team's flag on my alt in Rio. I was killed by an enemy Isida when hiding below our team's base. Our team's Hunter-Twins guy picked up the flag and just sat there all the time. He swore on chat and in the end we lost. Then there was a Dictator-Vulcan in Rio who just pushed me throughout a 15 minute game and caused me to flip twice even with flag just because I had told him to defend.

So yes there should be a better system to kick out these annoying mults and saboteurs.

I think stalemates are intense and strategic, they shouldn't be suppressed.

There shouldn't be a limit on heavy hulls in defense either. Light hulls are way too popular.

  2. They are interesting but wait till you get to my rank and and have to face a bunch of drugging mammoths and vikings. My M1 hulls at the moment are puny and inferior. Im hoping theres a sale in August. I have the cry, just not the time.
  3. They are but have you ever had to face a bunch of Commanders and Generalissimos? Welll i have and they use titans and mammoths like nothing. No matter what turret they hse it with. Most common turrets however are Isida, Firebird, Ricochet, Smoky, and Thunder.

why should they be limited??..this is not NFS or GT..every player who bought any hull have right to use it..

I own tundra. Instead of using it on my m2 hornet to enter xp i have to purchase a 20% paint which is ridiculous comsidering tundra was cheaper and i already own it. All they have to do is subrtact 10% everytime i enter a xp battle. Think about it.

Your that fool who wants gold box only for  dms right, well guess what in team battles, especially in ctf it is gonna be to crowded and overpowered to have a team full of 6 mammoths. Have you played in Noise? Red team sometimes hs 4 mammoths camping at their flag.

first,please refrain yourself from insulting,I'm proablly twice your age,maybe triple,did your parents teached you anything about how to behave?..next,I said that DM could be one option,in my topic you are targeting here,I proposed GB on/off feature,as option,not mandatory removing..GB is only distraction for player whose only objective isn't only that 1k box..team battles often suffer from that :) next,who is stopping you from using heavy hull too?..

so,just because you don't like to play with/against heavy hulls,all the players who bought them and like them should switch to something else?..grow with rank,gain expirience,gain equipment..then talk..plus,there is so many big maps which are mostly crowded with light hulls,even on top ranks..I'll repeat again..this is NOT NFS :)

Look up account arun246. Rank does not determine how much skill you have. You fools need to get that through your brain. Stating something like that is a desperate attempt to insult someone and discourage them. Just cause i dont use heavy hulls doesnt mean i dont like them. I dont prefer them. There is a difference. In team battles its insane to have to over 3 heavy hulls. They have so much health, weight and slow speed for a reason. The health is to make up for the speed, the speed is so that they arent to fast and to make sure they dont have to do that much movement. THE weight is the main ideal here. They cannot be pushed so easily you so have to kill them. But take in consideration their health. Your gonna die by the time you manage to defeat them. Btw what is NFS? Is that another version f GTA? Is it another version of NStrike? Is it something to do with World of Tanks? World of Warcraft? Wizard 101? Pirate 101? Battle-star Galactia? Club Penguin? Call of Duty? Fifa? and so on?

pathetic kid..don't have real arguments so you need to insult..NFS is NeedForSpeed..heard about it?..so,stay and play,or go to GTA,NFS,WoT,WoW and so on..skills?..I really doubt you even know meaning of the word..one more thing..pull one more insult :) or write from main acc..I could be noob like you are,writing from lowers (although I have 1 more gismo and fieldmarshall),I stay behind my words with my main acc..I'm not coward as you are..but..there's another possibility,judging on your tone,you may as well be banned on main.. :)
