Nerfed Thunder Does Not Deliver

I would like to know why an M3 Thunder with max damage cannot destroy an M3+ Viking in neutral paint after 3 shots?

 

Thunder M3 @ Max = 110 damage

 

3 Shots x 110  = 330

 

330 > 315 (Armor for M3+ Viking)

 

Shouldn't the math correspond with the outcome?

I have tried from many angles but I simply cannot kill a Viking in 3 shots. If anyone knows what one needs to do for maximum damage do tell.

 

With the Viking having around 10% health left after 3 near maximum hits it seemed like those 3 Thunder shots only delivered around 100 hp in damage each. Where's the other 10% of the damage?

Easy, Thunder doesn't deal a steady amount of damage, a Thunder M3+ (M4) deals BETWEEN 85 and 115, so the chances of having 3 shots in a row deal maximum damage is impossible, achieving a maximum damage shot is near to impossible, how about 3!

So yea, you don't deal the 115 every time, you deal a bit less.
