Unity Web Player Support Will End Soon

Hey guys,

Is it true that Unity will soon no longer be supported by Google Chrome come September this year? 

As we all know Google Chrome is one of the most popular browsers to play Tanki Online on, and this article suggests that it is disabling Unity support, has in fact disabled it now, and will withdraw any options to enable it again this September. 

 

Of course, I estimate maybe 1/3 of tankers use this browser to play--so I look at this with concern that we will lose a large percentage of tankers who could potentially play this great game. So what are we to do? Is this true?

 

And if so, what will happen to the new version of the game?

I use Chrome but I have Firefox as secondary browser so no problem for me.

If you're really into Tanki, you won't quit just because you have to switch browsers.

Chrome in most cases isn't the best browser to use Tanki anyway, many get lag spikes, high PING, lag etc.

As far as I know, the developers are aware of the current situation in Google's development plans and will make changes accordingly to make sure that all browsers can support the game, especially considering the Google Chrome is one of the most popular browsers (if not THE most popular).
