Frequency of Gold Boxes

Pointless discussion. Let me get to my PC and I'll explain why.

Right, so now I'm here. Sorry for the delay.

If you want to find the frequency of gold drops for yourself, you need to have a particular method to it. Posting screenshots of random battles will do no good and the topic will be closed if this continues as it's simply a duplicate of Gold Boxes or Photo of the Day.

Now, if you want to actually make this work, then you have a few options. The best option is to keep track of battles and when a battle reaches 7000 crystals of fund, you post a screenshot here (at around 7000 fund) and state how many gold boxes dropped in that time. Greyat will then need to have a reliable set of results where he counts the total number of 7k fund battles posted here and the total number of gold boxes dropped in them. After that it's simple - if the number of battles equals the number of gold boxes, then the chance of a gold box dropping in a battles is 1/7000, as said in all official sources.

If you are definitely sure that the chance of gold dropping is other than 1/7000, then you need to record results from long battles and divide the fund by the number of gold boxes dropped. You will get the average amount of fund required for one gold box to drop. For example you have a 73k battle fund and 10 gold boxes that dropped. 73000/10=7300 fund required for 1 gold.  The fund in a battle needs to be at least 50k for this - not 700 like in the first example in this topic. All of the results need to be combined into one average to find the final answer.

But the main problem is that to get even remotely close to the actual probability value you need not 10, not 100, but thousands of results. So yeah - unless you manage to collect a few thousand screenshots of battles and the exact number of gold boxes dropped in them, the results you end up with can never be taken as actual proof due to lack of experimental data.

But the thing is about long battles: as fund increases, it is expected that the number of gold boxes that, on average, drop per 7k fund increase, would approach 1. So in a 700k fund battle, it is almost certain that around 100, with a range of perhaps plus or minus 10 golds dropped. Else it would be probable that the chance is in fact not 1/7000.

Any discussion about Gold is pointless, because this is an item quite destructive for the team modes and should be removed completely once and for all !

Gold-hunting is equivalent to sabotaging and all such related topics must be cleaned off by the mods !

A lot can be said against the existence of the yellow box, but posting reasonable arguments is useless, when you have an adolescent contingent, which feels happy when collecting stuff, rather than when fighting and winning with its company !

Apparently, the only way to have at least some discipline in team modes is to wipe off any free items, that distract players from their team duties (luckily the devs removed the free crystals, now it is time to get rid of that silly Gold as well) !!!

Okay, here's an idea.

I see real danger in the existence of Gold and as the noble Cato the Elder, who constantly warned the Romans, I will never stop alarming the reasonable part of the TO community about the corrosive effect of Gold upon the minds of the weak ...

if I may paraphrase:

Ceterum censeo yellow box esse delendam !!!

Kind of pretentious to view yourself as Cato the Elder, no?

Ignorance, negligence, greed, sabotage and any other type of improper team behaviour, typical for and provoked by the gold hunting should be clearly addressed and fought against - by removing the cause of it !!!

... otherwise noobs (who, alas, seem to be majority lately) will completely ruin what's left of the once exciting atmosphere of TO !
