Flash going away?

What will happen with tanki if flash stop,and if all browsers block flash like mozilla? Also i hope the flash version will be still when unity version come out because my PC is bad it doesnt support unity. :(

The flash version shall still be there but wont be updated by the developers often. 

 

Tanki will move on to Unity before flash stops or anything. The new version is not far from completion. ;)

You can always install unity, it is often better performing than flash for the same task.  Meaning your bad pc will be somewhat less  burdened by unity tanki.

I for one am going to miss flash.  If anything adobe ran it into the ground through negligence and lack of updates, when macromedia first came about flash was a full decade ahead of its time offering unheard of functionality.  In terms of performance it can still be as resource efficient as newer options.  Flash just got a terrible reputation from terrible and inefficient implementation, as well as obtrusive ads.  As far as the past 20 years of games, chats, and rtmp streaming it'll be the end of an era.

You can disable the plugin check for Firefox by altering a few settings in the config file. This will get rid of the annoyance of Firefox blocking stuff automatically.

 

Personally I think it is a disgrace that they decided unilaterally to disable Flash.

Yes, Firefox unilaterally took it upon themselves to disable software on my computer without my permission or informing before doing so.

 

I think this is a dangerous precedent.

 

The fact that a typical user won't know how to bypass this nonsense is even more disturbing - it's actually really difficult to find the three variables that need to be changed along with searching for the additional blocklist file in order to disable the annoyance.

 

Frankly it pisses me off.

Am I the only one nostalgic to see flash go?  Some of the most innovative games ever made were on flash.  Even if you guys don't remember newgrounds in the early 2000s the fact that you're here means you've played a lot of hours on a flash game.

anyways Unity is also not being supported by many browsers for instance chrome. and by september the games which uses unity will be shifted to webgl. so now what?

 

whatever happens. i just want to say i earned my garage and rank after a hard time. i hope to get them in unity version for free
