I'm really sorry to create a topic but this is urgent!! 2-3 players have got banned forever on RU1 for phishing, but they did not post the links themselves. It's a bot which hacks into accounts if you JUST CLICK on the link. So please, an admin is needed on RU1... it's very urgent. 7 well known players posting that, well, a bot is posting that.

Banning them is the best thing to do immediately - to prevent the accounts from further spreading the scam to other players.

Now the accounts are banned and 'safe' from harming other players, there is time for appealing to the administration and hopefully recovering the accounts.

In addition to that, it is a player's own responsibility on clicking malicious links coming from a stranger. Once you get involved in a scam of some sort, the outcome is in your own hands. If you are banned without a logical reason; means it wasn't your fault and instead was a bot, you must contact Chat Administrators for investigation as said above.

You can report such websites to a forum moderator in PM. We forward it and block it's use on the forum.

Some info on such links:

This is a common hack which has been introduced mainly in Social Media for hacking in the past. A hacker would 'form' a special form of website link which seemingly is harmless. Once you click on that, the thing runs and scans through your browser cookies, saved passwords, history etc. That way it could find your password and hack your account.

Players were warned times and times again not to click on suspicious links. If their accounts have been hacked as a result of that, they have to contact tech support, NOT chat administrators, and follow the instructions from this topic: http://help.tankionline.com/topic/624669-what-to-do-if-your-account-has-been-stolen/

Thank you for the understanding.
