[Issue 37] How to Avoid Dying

Recommended Posts

Campers, useless campers everywhere (who are about to be flanked and crushed.) {buzz lightyear meme}

Granted, I'm mostly talking about those idiotic shafts who sit in scope mode with their beams pointed right on the flag, (and are almost always spotted and killed by the first capper who comes.) but my point still stands. The respawn makes more than 1 single defender, (the turtle) downright destructive to a team.
Now don't get me wrong, I'm all for preventing my enemies from getting the flag, but it's MUCH more effective to do that from a dynamic midfield position. WHO CARES if you die in the middle after destroying the first enemy in a 4 man convoy, because you will respawn back at your base to finish the rest of them off alongside your turtle. 2 lives for the price of 1.
GET IT?
"No"? Well, think of this, an enemy spawns and spends 20 seconds charging across the ground to reach your base. What do you during that time if you are a defender?
Answer: NOTHING! You give your enemy a whole 20 seconds where they don't have to worry about being attacked. They get to make an attempt on your flag without recompense. So what if you stop them 19 times out of 20 attempts from sheer weight of numbers? They are still beating you because you are taking 0 flags out of 0 attempts.
Now what happens if you are a dynamic Mid-fielder in the same situation?
Answer: A WHOLE LOT MORE! As soon as that convoy pokes it's head out of it's base you can spot them and begin to damage them, maybe even killing one before they reach your position. Once they do reach your position you can heavily damage and slow down the convoy, nearly defeating most of them before they even get you killed, and then you get to respawn and kill them at your base in the time it takes them to get the rest of the way to your flag.

(I will add a few more examples, but it's late right now so I will just post it's current form)

I believe what wrote donut70 is very important for each team and each tanker.

I am not so fond of DM and TDM so I don't know a lot about them. But I believe there's a close correlation between the team winning and the whole number of destroyed tanks (= the total time that the team loses a player). And the team that has more tanks is more likely to win. So avoid being killed at all cost (supplies, get pocket isidas, whatever). Perhaps Tanki online could provide us some stats in this respect?

Well, my two pence on the topic that was.

Always camping with wasp and smoky. Good advice if someone is aiming for you: act like you are crazy. I sometimes cross right through the battlefield just for fun, with my turret rotating. If you do this once in a while they wont see you as a threat :p

What is the point? Even when your tank is superspeed hack and doing random glitches and stuff it still attracts attention.

On the plus side, that will distract them while u take the flag. Wait.... Why am I even posting this? Who's side am I on?

Place mines on supply spots that are in approach lanes.  Also mines in dark tunnels, dirt ramps, and bushes in approach lanes, where they are very hard to spot.

I love to stay behind the buildings in the red side of Serpuhov as a blue side.

It is so easy to sneak in and place some mines in the entrances(2 narrow one, 1 wide one) and poke some shots against wandering enemies..

Even if they notice me I can just camp between the buildings and explode them..

I once made a 34 kill and no death with this tactic(by consuming 21 mines)
