why has tanki stopped dropping crystal boxes

i need crystals all the time and miss when they had crystal boxes falling with supplies

The reason why crystal boxes were removed from the game was because they were distracting to gameplay (people collecting rather than playing) and as a result, there was a rather large population of mults in the game. This caused various problems, including resentment for the game, conflicts between individuals, and lack of buyers for the game. There were stories where people managed to collect 100,000s of crystals or even millions (might be exaggeration) of crystals just through multing. Thus, crystals were removed. And to say, this update actually helped gameplay and made the game more fun and competitive. 

Crystal boxes will not be returned. As  said,

 

"We don't want to bring crystal boxes back, because it's how we want the game to be. We don't want to give away in-game resources for nothing, we want players to do something valuable. Making games worse by not helping your team and staying on a single spot is not a valuable contribute to the gameplay. "
