But the problem is that Tanki doesn't sell anything - nothing tangible. It sells intangible goods over which it exerts 100% control in terms of pricing and exchange rates.

Tanki sells a virtual currency that only is used for Tanki and can only be used to purchase items "sold" by Tanki - thus, Tanki has a monopoly over exchange rates in terms of X amount of currency for Y amount of crystals as well as a monopoly over how many crystals must be used to buy certain items.

This is not the same as a company that produces physical objects, and, thus is susceptible to profits or losses depending on the exchange of hard currency for manufactured goods (i.e. automobiles, electronics, oil, etc).

The value of the dollar, ruble, or Euro mean nothing with regard to each other in the virtual world. Except that people who buy with dollars or Euros are paying higher prices for the same amount of crystals, and, thus subsidizing the Russian players.

Why? Because Tanki controls the value of the crystals.

So, don't buy into the nonsense about economics or some crisis somewhere in the world.

Have you never played "Farmville" (most famous FB game) or "Everquest" (one of the most famous computer games), or any other game of the modern era on the internet?

...they are increasingly doing what Tanki does and that is set their own currency rules within their games. Deal with it.

1. So you support higher prices?

2. And you do not see anything odd that for the same money Russian players gets double ammount of crystals?

PS: No need for a detailed reply, we all have a lot of writing in this Topic. Just yes or no.

I have never played a game that costs the equivalent of $700 US just to get a fully upgraded tank. There isn't a game on this planet that requires so much investment just to reach the top. Even the computer I just put together for my son to play Minecraft smoothly doesn't cost half of what a virtual tank costs.

I suppose you are OK with Europeans and Americans being screwed by the crystal exchange rate? I suppose you think it is OK for Europeans and Americans to subsidize Russian players?

I think it stinks and it makes me feel cheated and angry.

Well, we non Russian players from Europe and America are in the worst position. But i can not understand why the Russians are unhappy:

http://ru.tankiforum.com/index.php?showtopic=688197&p=5902548 down votes for now

They get twice more crystals for the same money. So what bothers them?

Look at the difference from the original post and now:

25kix6c.jpg

Now we get 100,000 less and pay more for it!

And why the downvotes in the Russian forum?

Basically our 358,000 package would cost them $46 - but we get to pay $99 for it. More than double.

Also there is nothing about the "game economy suffering" anywhere in the Russian posting.

Thus, we are not only being charged more than double for the same amount of crystals but the insinuation is that it's the best they can do.

And yet they are complaining? :rolleyes:

(Seems that Tanki was out to screw people from Ukraine, thus, I notice this is some of the reasons for the downvotes).

В свете скорого перехода на юнити и обнулением гаража, выглядит как жалкая попытка выжать последние капли денег из флэша.

ROTFLMMFAO! :D

Have you not seen that compared to someone who I recently blocked, that they like to write novels and I only short articles? :P

1- If there was no hacking/sabotaging/etc, and if Tanki was only owned and run by volunteers, then I'd want I'd want Tanki for free.

2- I didn't research to find out if that's a conspiracy theory or if it's fact, so I didn't even bother to find out if there's a valid reason for it.

Well, tanki has a very amusing business model.

Several days ago they announced balancing the amount paid in various currencies and how crystals would be 43% cheaper if you paid USD.

Then some volunteers dressed in green silently removed that post and the 'new' packages and replaced them with the old packages, but just calling them new.

The reason is that it would affect the game economy. The solution is to have this bizzare payment scheme where if you pay $ you pay 30% more than if you paid in EUR, and more than twice than if you paid in Rubles.

I do not know who is the person you recently blocked  And I do not care about that

1. What sabotage and hacking have to do with my questions related to you and with this Topic?

2. No one here does not deal with conspiracy theories, but the facts related to different amounts of money and crystals. If you're not interested in this issue, as you say:

In regarding to the new price of crystals, then you do not have to spam the Topic

I was not spamming the topic but you may be. I have numerous times in this thread talked about prices of crystals in the Americas.

And your last response was to my quoting Kreeperskelly but the quoting identification had disappeared on me when I posted.

I do not know whom is your quote was sent because you subsequently changed the message

If you think I may be spamming with this:

This is interesting....at first page of this Topic:

Packages in US dollars

  • 6 000 crystals for 3.99 USD
  • 19 000 crystals for 9.99 USD
  • 45 000 crystals for 19.99 USD
  • 105 000 crystals for 39.99 USD
  • 200 000 crystals for 69.99 USD
  • 358 000 crystals for 99.99 USD

At first page of Russian Topic:

Всего для покупки доступно 6 пакетов кристаллов:

  • 1 500 кристаллов за 29 рублей
  • 6 250 кристаллов за 99 рублей
  • 22 500 кристаллов за 299 рублей
  • 52 500 кристаллов за 599 рублей
  • 120 000 кристаллов за 1199 рублей
  • 375 000 кристаллов за 2999 рублей

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

When you convert rubles to US dollars:

29 RUB -> 0.49 USD

99 RUB -> 1.68 USD

299 RUB -> 5.07 USD

599 RUB -> 10.15 USD

1199 RUB -> 20.33 USD

2999 RUB -> 50.84 USD

For example: If you buy in Russia for 299 RUB (5.07 USD) you get 22500 crystals. But if you buy in the rest of World for 9.99 USD you get 19000 crystals.

For less money in Russia (in RUB) you get more crystals then if buy for more USD in the rest of the World !

and this:

All we want and what we all think is that would be fair that non-Russian players have the same prices like Russian players. With cards and with SMS

Because Russian players pay twice less in RUB than we non - Russian in RSD, USD, EUR

Semyon Kirov, on 31 Jul 2015 - 20:02

Let me explain. The Thursday's update made the rates fair, this meant that you could buy the same amount of crystals for the same amount of money, not matter what currency you paid in. However, this decision to make the RUB and EUR/USD rates the same in one update turned out to be too fast, and has put the game's economy at risk.

This is why the decision was made to roll back the currency rates to what they were before the update, and make the same changes as originally planned but in a gradual way, step by step.

I know it looks stupid and I fully understand the fact that you are not happy at all. However, this is the only way to go — to make crystal/currency rates fair in several minor steps instead of one major one.

I am sorry for any inconvenience caused, and assure you as the lead CM of TO that I will do my best to make sure this does not happen again.

and this:

SMS price in Serbia:  6659 crystals price is 840 RSD ----> 457.04 RUB ----> 7.65 USD

SMS price in Russia:  8175 crystals price is 300 RUB ----> 551 RSD ----> 5.02 USD

I used Banca Intesa conversation table

Then I will not be considered you as equal participant in the discussion and Goodbye

I changed the message to show who I was quoting. It's Kreeperskelly, so you understandably accidentally thought it was me.

I edited it because somehow I accidentally did not have the quoting part showing when I posted a response to him.

So when you responded to me you were actually responding to him but didn't know it. [i'm trying to help you save face here]

Actually, looking at the numbers again and if memory serves me correctly, we are now paying more then before this 44% reduction.

So was that just a way to hide an actual increase in prices? Sort of a virtual slight of hand.  Gasoline(petrol) companies here in Ontario due this all the time. As an example, a few days before a long weekend they will lower the cost by 3 cents per liter. People think great the price is down. Then the day the long weekend starts it goes back up 5 cents per liter. The funny thing is that the price of oil didn't change much during the week prior to the long weekend. So why the 2 cent increase before a long weekend? Simple, greed.  Sound familiar?

For one day and only one day, there was that 44% reduction, so I made a payment.

But when someone complained about that reduction (definitely not me) not being available to SMS users as well, the reduction completely disappeared so that credit and debit card users would have to pay the same amount for the same amount of crystals as SMS'ers.

Since we are talking about the economy, and I am not familiar with the price of gasoline in Canada. And to gain a complete picture of it.

What is the price of gasoline in Canada (per litre)?

Here we are using:

- EURO BMB 98

- EURO premium BMB 95

- BMB 98

- Premium 95

- Liquefied Petroleum Gas

- Liquefied Petroleum Gas PBS

Thanks but i dont need that, I am over 30 years old

Funny how there seems to be a lot of adults commenting in this topic. I bet Tanki HQ wishes that all of us adults would just go away so the could continue to fool all the kids with wonderful stories in peace.  The must really hate being exposed all the time.

I can't help but wonder if we would even be having this conversation right now if it wasn't for the fact this double standard was exposed by @swede1 back on May24/2015. "Double Standard, is it fair?"

It's simple. Adults are earning money by themselves so these prices hurts more adults.

LOL (whether I fully agree, partially agree/disagree, or fully disagree) @ Lord Voldemort's response in that thread link of yours:

//Posted 24 May 2015 - 19:07

As they said economies are different. Think of it this way, if you go into a shop, you may see some chocolate which you can buy for £1.00 then you go into a different shop and the exact same chocolate costs £1.20. Not all prices are the same, others have said it works but clearly for you it hasn't worked.// - Lord Voldemort

  • 107.9 = 107.9 cents  or  1 dollar and 7.9 cents.
  • Also for clarity 1 dollar = 100 cents.

Thats much cheaper than here. 1.1 CAD -> 92.88 RSD

Here one litre of 98 octane is 145 RSD -> 1.72 CAD

And if you want to buy 9158 crystals via SMS? It would cost me 1200 RSD -> 14.21 CAD
