Song of the week

 Share

Recommended Posts

Well, while boring myself around, I thought about something brilliant (it isn't really brilliant :D): why not make a topic in which everyone can just write a song that he likes, and every week we'll write suggestions for good songs divided to categories? That way, players that like a style will be able to discover songs from their genre they didn't know, and may broaden their knowledge of Musicians and different Bands.

In other words - to suggest a song, please write its name in a comment below and next to it write the song's genre. The first song suggested every week in every category will be added.

(for the first week I will suggest the songs. In pop for example I will just pick a random song as I don't really know Pop Songs...)

Note: some of the songs may contain explicit lyrics, and therefore I will only bring Live versions or Album Versions - not lyrics videos.

Alternative Rock/Emo:

R U Mine (Arctic Monkeys)

Funk:

If you have to ask (Red Hot Chili Peppers)

Metal/Goth/Punk/Thrash:

Basket Case (Green Day)

Classic Rock:

Dream on (Aerosmith)

Pop:

Cheerleader (OMI)

Rap:

Rap God (Eminem)

Progressive House:

Let go (Mrmilkcarton)

Dubstep:

Bangarang (Skrillex)

I hate songs ok?

No one forces you to listen to 'em.. You want not to listen to songs, it's your pure right - just don't enter topics like that ;)

Cool Dubstep choice :D

PS Progressive House is what artists like Martin Garrix and David Guetta make. ;)

Bangarang is the only Dubstep song I know (I know I can just write Skrillex in YouTube, but the only song I really know is this one)... Anyways, I know who David Guetta is (I heard his name), but this Garrix guy - I didn't have the faintest idea he even existed :D

BTW, about that song I put on the Progressive House category - I just searched in youtube "Progressive House Top Songs playlist", entered the first one, and the first song in it was Let Go. I entered the song only in order to copy the link, but I stayed because it was good :D You've caused me to discover a completely new, quite good genre  B)

Listen to artists like Martin Garrix, David Guetta, Nicky Romero, Afrojack, Calvin Harris, Ummet Ozcan, DJ Snake, Tiesto, R3hab, Dmitri Vegas & Like Mike.

*Whew* that's a lot, but Progressive House is all I listen to nowadays (aside from Dubstep, where you can try artists like Skrillex, NERO and Knife Party)

Heh heh

Electronic Music has different genres - Progressive House, Electro House, Moombahton, DnB, Electronica, House and Deep House. Out of these, the first two are the best.

Oh and add one more artist to the list - Hardwell! B)

I've understood about half of what you said, but I'm not a guy of Electronic music, so it's ok :D

ok

Is it only me, or for some reason you continuously go into topics you've never been to, pick random posts and then write something dumb in response? And then you're miraculously in the Top 20 Posters of the day.

Please, go spam somewhere else.

Might want to consider grouping electronic genres into one. There are so many, and some artists span multiple genres anyway.

Disclosure, flume, that sorta thing is what I'm into right now.

Modern pop gets a bit boring imo, some of the older stuff is decent. When cheerleader comes up on the radio I switch the station, sorry :p

Do we have a limit to how many songs we post?

You can post how much you want... But from each Category I will take the first song suggested and pick it  :D

I find Pop a bit boring anyways, but there are some that don't :D
