Hack or lag?

Ok so I'm playing Tanki in a Noise CTF match. I press tab to see the players stats and I notice most are grayed out so I think they are inactive. Being on the red team,I parkour jumped off the ledge that leads to the bottom of the blue base. Everyone seemed inactive so I go for the flag.Then I start turning blue, and I'm getting slower, the work of a freeze. I see no freeze. I frantically shot at the air with no signs of a tank. And I die. I get frozen again and die again. The freeze takes our flag but I see no moving flag, or the flag taken from its base.

So, it's either a hack or lag, question is which one?

its a lag, although this is rare it happens. u can find some youtube videos calling such lag as ghost tanki or somthing but this is a simple lag or glitch of server, so just bear with it :)

It's a common lag which happens when u have slow Internet speed, refreshing usually solves the problem.

And YouTube also provides vid instructions (just saw before looking up the above from Wiki) on how to make other people lag but not yourself.
