EXPERIENCES OF KIT-BUYERS

Product kits are one of the most distinctive features of this game. While typically identified with crystal-buyers, you don't have to be such a tanker to purchase a kit. With enough saving and patience, anyone can get a kit.

We'll be hearing about what those kit-buyers thought of their purchases.

The questions posed were:

What was the kit that you bought and what were its components?

What rank were you when you bought it, and what was its unlock rank?

In your opinion, how effective has the kit been? You can rate each component separately.

M1 KIT(S)

@Thekillerpenguin

What was the kit that you bought and what were its components?

I purchased the M1 Medium Kit a little over a year ago. During this time, the M1 Medium Kit available in the garage consisted of M1 Dictator, M1 Railgun, Cedar, Desert, Storm, and 50 of each supply.

What rank were you when you bought it, and what was its unlock rank?

The kit was unlocked at Warrant Officer 3, and I bought it almost immediately after ranking up.

In your opinion, how effective has the kit been? You can rate each component separately.

I think it was very effective for its price. The core combo itself is pretty good- Dictator-Railgun is a strong medium-to-long range option for larger maps, and both parts are strong and versatile M1s. The paints were also a good deal. Getting Cedar (which has the same Thunder protection as Rustle and nice camouflage) at WO3 was definitely a great selling point for the kit, while Desert's ricochet protection and camouflage are very useful. Heck, I still use Desert every once in a while. The last paint, Storm, isn't as good as the others, since its only useful protection is 20% Firebird, which I personally haven't found that useful. The camo isn't good either.

And the supplies were nice to use as well. I usually don't use them very often, so I figure that a few of the supplies currently in my inventory are still from the purchase of that kit.  :P

@greyat:

I purchased the Siberian kit on my WO2 alt, @MellifluousMortality (now a WO4, as you can see), a while ago; the kit unlocked at WO2.

It was exceedingly powerful, containing an excellent hull - Hunter M1, which is arguably one of the better M1 hulls, Tundra, and M2 Freeze. That itself speaks of how powerful this kit was - a (albeit weaker) M2 weapon at the rank of WO2, when many M1 weapons have yet to be unlocked.

At that rank, many people had M0 light hulls, which would be vanquished in seconds – M1 light hulls and M0 medium hulls took longer, but still were destroyed quickly. With a little drugging, my D/L went through the roof – almost always staying above 5.00, in a few memorable Polygon CPs, I didn’t die at all, managing to stay in the tunnel next to the point the whole time while leading the scoreboard by far. Once I played a Sandbox DM, and managed 100 kills in 15 minutes. I also purchased Hornet M1, which paired excellently with M2 Freeze, the drifting enhancing the capability of circling a frozen enemy. The paint, Tundra, was good on larger maps, but unfortunately failed to protect against the massive amount of M1 Firebirds present at lower ranks – I find myself using Storm more often nowadays. I used Hunter the most frequently of all my hulls – it works well with my other M1 weapons, Shaft and Vulcan. Its mobility is very useful – you can even outrun light hulls if you see them approaching, and you can almost always escape other medium hulls and heavy hulls. If I’m caught, however, Hunter is durable enough to withstand the brunt of enemy attacks until they’re destroyed, either by me or by allies.

Overall, Siberian was an excellent purchase, and I would definitely recommend buying it if you can.

M2 KIT(S)

@lukey0:

First up, Pitbull Kit,

cyIdx8K.png

I was a First Lieutenant when I bought this kit and that is also its unlocking rank. I bought this kit because I had no M2's to use and I felt I was falling behind everyone that had them. I was a little unsure weather to buy it or not, but I had little choice. There hadn't been a sale for a long time and there didn't seem to be one soon, so I bought it.

It sadly unlike now had no paint, just the gun and hull. I used this kit as my main combo, and it was well worth it. Hunter is basically a much better Hornet, a little slower but much more health. It was great for battles, especially in Noise CTF and Polygon CP. It was also good for taking Golds that fell. With being a lower rank there are many Hornets and with Double Power on my Hammer I could 1 shot all of them from a reasonable distance. The kit worked well for both attack and mid-field, though didn't work well for defence, or it could be just me, I hate defending.  :lol:

Some of the best battles I played with it.

I would recommend this kit to anyone who wants to get a head start on M2's, and want's a Hull that still works well at General. Now with it unlocking earlier and with a paint, its one of the best kits for that rank range.

Now Bulldozer Kit,

GF6utLi.png

I bought this kit at Colonel, though it does unlock at Lieutenant Colonel. Up until this point I was using Pitball Kit all the time. I was thinking weather to or not to buy this kit for about 3 hours, because I was originally saving up for Jackhammer with its massive 50% discount which never returned.  :lol:. I received M2 Thunder for free as I already had M1 and saved about 13K even if I bought it all separate in a 50% sale. This was the main reason to buy it.

There is no doubt this is one over powered kit, and gives you a massive advantage in battles. And it still does, when my account is General not far from Marshal! M2 Hornets and Wasps stand no chance, with Double Power they are one shotted, Hunters, Vikings, Dictators always 2-3 hits and Mammoths and Titans, 3-4 hits. (all with no or little protection) With Thunder being one of the most popular weapons at Brigadier, Emerald is a perfect match. This kit works best for mid-field or defence due to Mammoths low speed, don't try taking a flag I've tried it doesn't work.  :lol: It can always hold its own in battle. Though Hunter Thunder Emerald is a decent combo.  :P

Lets face it, it would be a no-brainer not to buy this kit if you have the crystals, to test this kit out I used it on my main (lukey0) account in a Polygon CP and came third, full Generalissimo team. Its one heck of a kit, and I'd recommend it to anyone.

@LeIouch_Vi_Britannia:

I bought the same pitbull as lukey did (or just lets say,

He got the same as me,as I got it sooner  :lol:) so yeah, I bought it on the iron days or whatever,

With 25% whole garage which made it 103k,and I had just turned into major so, yeah it was my best choice.

I liked hammer way much at first cause of its destructive power, now its the reason I dislike it now.

Well it used to serve me very well in ranks high above me, after i got thunder M3 in bulldozer, hammer had to collect dust in the garage  :lol:

Anyways, hunter was what I actually wanted to get from that kit,

And it was as great as I expected it to be :3

Fast speed, swift turning, nice hp, every thing I could have wanted at that rank xD

helped me got quite a lot of golds, and golds were the only thing that kept me playing  ^_^

And the paint, named green, was so perfect  :lol:

@GoldRock:

I bought the 'Medium Tank M2' kit, which consisted of Thunder M2, Viking M2, Prodigi, Emerald and Sandstone (as well as 50 of each supply). It cost about 300,000 crystals, with a 50% discount. I bought it as soon as it unlocked at First Lieutenant.

In my opinion, on the whole the kit was really really overpowered. The equipment itself was way too effective for the rank that it unlocked at, consisting of a combination effective right up to the early-M3 ranks and a couple of very good M3-level paints. Even Sandstone was really useful for M2 XP battles, so the whole kit was great, not just the main parts. On the flipside, I could dominate every battle I was in at those low-M2 ranks without even turning my turret if I wanted to. Still, I wasn't gonna complain about how powerful it was anytime soon!

@TriNitroToIuene:

The kit I bought during the Tanker's Day Sale was Fortress Kit, which consists of Thunder M2, Mammoth M2 and Rustle. I was getting fed up of getting pwned with my XP, so I bought it when I was a Captain (I still am one, though). I guess it unlocks at Second Lieutenant, because it was the first kit I ever bought, and I didn't care much for product kits before.

It's had a drastic effect on my performance - I now earn double the XP I used to earn with any of my old combos per day. In particular, Thunder M2 has  been really useful for team matches, and in Polygon CPs, I find myself raking in the experience points with Thunder and Hornet. For Death Matches, I would switch over to stock Fortress, and now I find my D/L refusing to go below 1.5. And I particularly like Rustle's Thunder and Freeze protection, because these are the two weapons which annoy me the most. Anyway, I'm loving this kit; it gets me through my daily missions faster than before and I'll have a stockpile of crystals soon!

M3 KIT(S)

@LeIouch_Vi_Britannia:

Hey Kit Cat  :P ( i know its kitkat but that sounded perfect here, the writing is bout kits and u are a cat  :lol:) thanks for choosing me for this wall of text writing  :lol:

So,I got medic kit,on like general rank or the rank behind it, as I wanted the cherry and M3 isida

(and as Josh respects hunter but is an all time viking user, I respect Vik but am a full time hunter user

And I believe most of the community know that  :D)

So,I had like 50k crystals when Medic came up, and the price was like 273k crys,

So I had to no-life get 220k crys in the week  ^_^

Anyways, the Isida was fine enough,even tho the reduced cone angle is a real pain,

In maps like polygon. But served me good to take down the dam lot of the jackhammer users.

As I could survive more than 3 of their shots with the self heal, which made me victorious unless they had

Heavy HP MUs or isida prots. Althogether its a fine turret, a real tide turner in the hands of a master.

Now to cherry, as the already high amount of thunders,and the increasing amount of twins,I had to

Get it and it helped me very well enough  :D even tho emerald is better, I dont care that much

And the viking, bleh, isnt that bad but Hunter FTW  :P

and oh, another reason I dislike viking, is its darn low speed

Hunter M1

4rV6VWY.jpg

and Vik M3

VSvnPPj.jpg

and as I prefer speed to hp, even hunter M1 being faster than vik M3,

I'd choose it over Vik anyday

@deadtoyou:

I recently bought the Redneck Kit, with Ricochet M3, Hunter M3, and Lumberjack.

I had just ranked up to Marshal, which was the unlock rank for the kit. I had to play vigorously to get it in time.  :ph34r:

  • Ricochet M3 is a my favorite Turret, very effective in close-to-mid range combat, I find it very useful in urban maps such as Dusseldorf, Kungur, Silence, Noise, and Polygon. I have upgraded the Damage to M4, making it my most powerful Turret. I use it frequently in conjunction with my favorite Hull, Viking, which has M4 protection.  :D
  • Lumberjack is my favorite close-range paint, and even though it lacks aesthetics, it has proven itself very handy in maps like Polygon, Island, Duality, and Noise. The 30% protection from all close-range turrets makes close-range combat that much easier, but I don't rely on the 12% Vulcan protection, it hardly makes a difference.
  • Hunter is a nice, fast medium Hull, but I use it rarely, having Viking as my Medium Hull Of Choice.  ;) What I've seen from and used it for hasn't disappointed me yet.  :)

@Shedinja:

On my alternate account, I purchased the Light M3 kit. This was composed of M3 Railgun, M3 Hornet, Spark and Needle.

I had just made my way to Brigadier when I purchased this kit. In fact, the reason that I decided to climb to Brigadier was to have access to this kit in the first place, since it was unlocked at this point. Side Note: This kit was available before the update regarding such kits was put into action. I'm likely one of the few remaining people in the game that owns Needle at the rank of Brigadier.

At a stage where most people haven't access to M3 Hornet, owning M3 Railgun is almost too much fun on large maps crawling with light hulls. Equip a Double Power and a heavy hull, and you're going to be very difficult to stop. This is likely one of the only instances I'd even consider a heavy hull alongside Railgun, but I daresay the combination of this and Needle make it a tad tooexcellent on a Stadium CTF.

On the other hand, M3 Hornet supplies me with exemplary speed and armor for a light hull, allowing me to outspeed almost anything my rank spare the occasional M2 Wasp, which I can gun down with ease with Railgun. In the times before the update on reduced impact forces, I'd be commonly found turning over even Hunters from a cozy sniping spot on Highways, if I didn't destroy them completely. Then, when my cover was blown and the Shafts decided to follow me, I'd simply turn and run while hoping that I still had enough health left for Needle to take the brunt of the hit and spare me most of the damage.

Needle. Undoubtedly one of the best paints in my alt's garage. Shafts and Smoky assaults are futile efforts on their owner's part, especially when I equip M2 Dictator/Mammoth and a CDR weapon like Twins or Ricochet M2. For a Brigadier to own an M4 class paint at the stage where M3s are only just being introduced is (understatement alarm tripped!) slightly overpowered in hindsight. Sure, this would have been fine and dandy when players were roaming about with the Heavy M3 kit or even the almighty Medium M2 kit (of which players still reap the rewards of as to this day), but the assumption that those tankers are likely to have long since reached Generalissimo by this point, leaving in their wreckage trail but a few M2s and scattered M3s thanks to recently introduced package deals. Which means flaying folks with resistances to the most powerful weapons at this time, albeit not the most popular, fails as a difficult chore. Spark is probably the only lacking end of this kit, since not only does Needle provide sufficient defense from Ricochet pellets, but it fails to provide the excessive extraneous protections I'm looking for when I buy an M3 kit. Also, I had already previously owned Spark from another kit. Kind of dampened the Light M3's flame, but still an excellent purchase nonetheless.

Finally, our resident mult, Remult, was invited to respond as his mult, 'Dumb', was known to have purchased many kits.

He seemed to have other things in mind.

Should I get Prometheus or Eyjafjallajokull. Many people know I already got vandal, but for those who dont know I got firewall kit back when it first came out and I loved the combo. I got it because I had heard that fire m2 was good. I had hunter m0, as up until that point I had only been a wasp/mammoth/hornet user, wasp was the only one not m2. I cant decide, though I really want m3 mammoth and it would be a better deal, tanki is starting to get boring again with vandal so Im not sure what I should do.

Medium tank M2 kit - Without a shadow of doubt this is the best thing I have ever bought. At the low ranks it was available at, when people saw you wearing prodigi they would run, and run fast. Seriously over-powered kit and was I complaining? - Hell, no! :D
