Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome back to the interview series unlike any other, "Behind the Tank." After a long, long break, it is finally time to begin examining the people behind the nicknames we've all seen or heard of. Today's tanker is outgoing, inspiring, and encouraging of those in our community: give it up for dogm45!

Viking: Hey dogm, thanks for agreeing to do this interview.

dogm45: Hi. Thank you for giving me this opportunity to share myself with the Tanki Online community.

As usual, I'll have you start out by telling us a bit about yourself.

I am a 54 year old man. I have been married for the past 33 years to one great lady. I have a daughter that is all grown up and living a productive successful life. She is an Anchor / Reporter working for a National News Network Corporation on television. I don't watch a lot of television, but I do watch my daughter every day when she is on. As for me, I own a Design & Build Company. My title is Ceo, Architect / Contractor.

Business owner, eh? Thats cool. What led you to that spot and how has it effected your life?

I ventured into my own business 25 years ago. The reason I made this move was to be closer to my family. I did the 9 - 5 for someone else for a few years and I wasn't satisfied with that. Owning my own business has allowed me to make my own hours, spend more time with my wife, and raise my daughter. At the present time I am semi retired, looking for a new gig. Maybe "Grandpa" one day!

I bet you can't wait to be called that. Are there any ideals/morals you feel you've passed down to your daughter? How would you feel if those morals were passed down to the grandchildren?

To become a Grandparent would be a very special thing for me. To be apart of shaping the future of this family would be an honor. The morals, character and work ethic I taught my daughter are solid. I have no problem seeing it passed down to the next generation. The thing about getting older is you have a little more time and patience. For me as I get older patience is not about being able to wait, but it's how you wait! My role has always been to provide support. This will continue as a Grandparent.

I have no doubt that you will continue support as long as you possibly can. What does a grandfather hopeful do for exercise or do as a hobby?

When I was a younger man I enjoyed playing sports. I did Track & Field. I threw the Javelin and Discuss. One of my hobbies is boating and/or fishing. The ocean is my sanctuary outside of many other hobbies.

Activities on the water promote a life that is calmer. Transitioning now into the Tanki life, what are your favorite turrets and hulls?

My favorite is Shaft and Firebird. All the equipment I do have in my garage I run very well. I'm sure you can find some players in the forum that know all about " The Shaft ". The Firebird; all I can say about that is "run and hide"...lol. Depending what position I'm playing dictates the hull I will use out on the battlefield. My primary hull is the Viking.

I'll be sure to remember that next time I meet you in battle. How would you describe your playing style?

My playing style is to run support out on the battlefield. I like to promote lower rank players out on the field during battle due to me already being a Generalissimo. If you see the name " dogm45 joined " be prepared. I am known for causing a lot of collateral damage out on the battlefield. I do love a good battle. I post a lot of score cards and pictures in POTD in hopes to keep players inspired.

Your fathering characteristic is consistent! What kind of footprint have you left on the community?

One of my contributions to the Tanki Online community is Generalissimo Hall. Located in Off-Topic Discussion. The Hall was created to honor and archive Generalissimos. It is the last rank, the last stand, and the last say "I was here".

It is a great record of all those who put in long ours over months/years to get to the final rank. May it become a tradition for all who reach the top in the future. Anything else you would like to leave off with, to the community?

Enclosing, what I would like to say to the community is to enjoy the game. Learn to adapted and overcome. Tanki Online has been and still is a lot of fun. My advice to lower ranks coming up. Learn your equipment and develop your style. So later down the road you can become a skilled player. The easy way isn't always the best learning curve. Have fun and see you out on the battlefield! Your brother Tanker, dogm45  :)

Once again, thanks goes out to dogm45 for his participation. We wish you and your family all the best in the future.

Dude a 54 year old man playing this game? Isn't he too old for this game? Or is this a joke?

No, he's not the only one. I have talked with several on here. There is no reason age should be a barrier, and I think a big kid remains hidden inside us all, whatever age.
