Ping Spikes during Gold box event

 Share

Recommended Posts

hello everyone!

Since a few months i'm having an issue with the Gold Box:

I'm a fan of the shiny box and most of the times i find a good spot and a good tactic to get it, but...

Everyone in the battle gets lag spikes, starting from when the mountain of tanks is piling up. some player lags, some crash (!) and some other cant even spawn. my ping and everyone else raises to absurd numbers, and even if i manage to touch first the gold box by climbing on top and such, it just goes thought me and some other lucky tanker gets it. then i go back to my normal 30-80 ping.

the issue happens like 9 times out of 10, and this is ruining my nerves and my wallet. i miss one or two each day solely for this reason, being the first to collide with the box but missing it.

this could be related to a buggy update, or someone using a software able to lag the servers for the 10-20 seconds timespan?

i'm having no issues when playing with a restrict amount of other tanks (<10) or with friends. here some examples of today... i would have raised my crystal amount by 2000 crystals, but the game said just NO.

Maybe you have an unstable connection...

Because there are usually no changes in the FPS or Ping when the gold drops...

Like I never find any change in my FPS or Ping at such moments...

In order to check

--------------------------

Try again this battle with the same amount of players in the same place all at crowd. Regardless of the Gold Box.

If you have low fps and high ping again and you have lags, it is up to your PC configuration. TO is demanding (system requirements) game.

i played thousands of polygon control points with full crowded teams and intense action, no issues. ping is fixed to 30-80 and never rises above unless the gold box drops. i experience lags only when there is really HEAVY rain, but it does not happen often in Sicily.

i have a clean internet connection

i dont have hardware issues with an i7 4770k, a r9 290 and 8 gigs of ram.

the issue happens only during the gold event and lasts for about 20 second. thank for your help but this is not my case, unfortunately.

unlucky for me, is not my internet connection fault. everything is fine, no packet loss or such. i'm going to try the "trick" but i think it will not work.

answers from any developer or game-related person?

sometimes ur ping has to do with your DNS connection. usually computer gets random dns. go to network connection properties and change DNS servers to any server of your choosing. (list below is of good DNS connections).

Wat

If you have dynamic IP you dont have to do what @thegreatleo said.

Anyway i think we all have nice, fast and clear connections but that lag have nothing to with your connection hardware (your PC and modem, router). It's just a little problem between  @tommybau ----> Internet provider ----> TO server

You could play on small maps and see if it works.

it works fine in small maps and when there are a few players

yea, i know about the ip stuff, dont worry. talking about your theory... it seems plausible. but why should the isp go crazy just when the gold drops? i dont experience this stuff during normal gameplay.

ok maybe that was confusing. but here are simpler steps

Example: Changing DNS server settings on Windows 7
  1. Go to the Control Panel.
  2. Click Network and Internet > Network and Sharing Center > Change adapter settings.
  3. Select the connection for which you want to configure Google Public DNS. ...
  4. Select the Networking tab. ...
  5. Click Advanced and select the DNS tab. ...
  6. Click OK.

ok and then you just put in the code behind the dns servers I listed that you want to enter. Trust me. it speeds things up
