Does anybody listen to our ideas?

Is there even a point of posting ideas?

Not really. But it's still fun to share your ideas and see what people think of them. I already explained it in a different topic, but the main reason no ideas from this section are being added, it because developers already have a massive bucket list of updates, which they have been wanting to add for years (as said in the V-log, Premium Accounts were discussed since the very beginning of TO). And they can't just abandon those plans and start working on new ideas from this section. If they do that - the whole process of development will become disorganised and hectic, resulting in lower quality updates, more glitches and less new features overall.

You can still post your ideas here and discuss them, but keep in mind that no matter how good or simple your idea is, it may only be added to the game in a few years or so. If an idea from this section does end up in the game in a few months or even weeks after it was posted, then it simply means that the player guessed what the developers were planning, and suggested something that would have been added anyway.

Introducing a new turret was definitely planned after premium accounts, so you say. So why did it come first? Tanki isn't that organized, they can launch updates in any order. Some great ideas here are a year old already...

Close the whole section if there is no point in it. Better yet, close the whole forum if its just here to appease and allay us. Throw the peasants some crumbs, it will keep them happy for a while. Our feedback has never been treated seriously anyway. We're obviously an inconvenience to be tolerated and treated with contempt too if I'm to believe what i'm reading.

What is the point of saying anything if nobody cares?

This is my last post in this section. One can only be disrespected so much.

Bye,.

So then why even bother with an ideas and suggestions section? This comment just proves that Tanki really couldn't care less about it's players or there issues and ideas. It really doesn't matter what we think. But many of us have been saying this for a long time, you just finally confirmed it.

Well thanks for setting the record straight. You might as well close this section completely and save space.

Close the whole section if there is no point in it.

What's the point of the "Forum games" section? It's just a bunch of topics that allow you to easily boost your post count without risk of getting banned for flood. We could close it too, but it's popular so we are keeping it open. Same with I&S.

I&S was popular because people naively thought that they somehow where helping the game to develop but if the devs don't really take this section or the people that contribute to it seriously then;

  1. that is a little arrogant on their part to think they don't need us
  2. and it is condescending of Semyon to tell us to discuss updates etc. in the forum if the truth is it is a waste of time.

I guess we can't expect anything more from people that grew up in a dictatorship style life. Hopefully they will someday learn that they need to pay attention to the people that actually play the game.  Are they making the game for us players, themselves or simply as a way to make money? I think we all know the answer to that.

The problem with I & S is that it gathers the players' issues and their ideal solutions for these issues.. Even if those solutions are inpractical for technical reasons, still they can help Developers "feel" what players feel and what they would like.

If Developers don't give a  about players' opinions, then it's hypocritical to claim that they want our feedback and they take it into consideration.

Furthermore, another problem is that apart from the superfisial comments of 12yo players, there are topics that have taken real thinking and lots of time from grown ups, logical arguments and responsible proposals for the creators of this game. Dealing with all these the same way you deal with infants' mood, is direspect to your customers and a sure way to lose face with them.

Tanki doesn't realize how bad image is showing and what kind of reputation is cultivating among its own customers.

But they should.

Don't you realize that you (read Tanki) need us?
Don't you see that without us you would have no job?
Don't you see that we all make the game interesting and worth to spend real money on?

Is this the respect you give us?
Do you feel pleased or powerful to treat us as fools?

These are the worst things I read from you ... but maybe they reveal your real thoughts.

I hope they will spread trough internet as much as possible, because they mean RIP Tanki. And to be honest, if this is your thought, that is the only end I figure out

They only care about how to make more money. They think they are immune to any backlash from their decisions. I will be first in line the day they fail, just to say "WE TOLD YOU SO"  Unfortunately their biggest enemy is their own ego. They really think they are so much better then they really are. " We have millions of players", yet only around 60000 ever log on at the same time.

English Community CMs ( and @Cedric Debono) visit this section, aswell as our Admins and some of the Mods. As you probably saw, I am the one who made this section's Rules since I've sort of lived in this section for many months before now.. I'm one of those Mods visiting this section almost everyday, along with my colleague , and I assure you that your ideas and suggestions are read, all of them, even those which are completely random or nonsense.

Devs implement updates because they need to follow their plans towards the future of the Game and, meanwhile, you all should keep suggesting things to tweak and improve their updates or even think about something before them and might see it implemented in the future!

Exactly, as I said, many ideas are hard to realize since you simply explain and show off some general details, but behind every specific new feature implemented in the Game there are many hours of codings, testings and balancing and not only general concepts, so OBVIOUSLY implementing something new is not as easy as you all may think.

Suppose that I post an idea and it's great, it's accepted, BUT it might take many time before it will be implemented due to the things I said above!

Players' behaviour towards the Staff is not always polite since when someone suggest something he WANTS TO BE ASSURED that his/her own idea will be accepted and implemented, so they get offended and start acting harshly towards those that rejected their ideas since they can't accept a NO as a reply.

What I said above is one of the reasons started to check less often this section, but the main reasons are that almost all the Devs are focusing on the new Tanki version and most of the actual ideas are not compatible with it.

You should keep on posting suggestions since some may be compatible with the new Tanki Online version, but do not expect them approved or implemented anytime soon due to the reasons I explained above.

Devs gives the last word over ideas and suggestions, they decide to approve them or not and, after that, implement them or not, but the Staff also has some words to say about ideas and suggestions since we are not here to forwards to the Devs only issues, we are here to forward to the Devs the ideas and suggestions you have posted and which seem really great to get lost in the huge amount of ideas posted everyday :)

In conclusion, nothing of what you suggest is lost: something might be denied, something might be accepted and lately not implemented and something might be accepted and then implemented.

We take care of what you all say and we love to see the effort you offer towards a better Tanki Online future, so do not give up and don't think you are not listened or read since we are here everyday :)

Issho, this is the "political" answer ...

... and this is what your colleague MAFlOS0 says later on this post:

There are a few things that need to be explained once and for all:

  1. At the moment the developers are NOT spending a lot of time in this section, because they are busy making sure that the already planned updates (+ Unity) are released ASAP.
  2. Yes, the developers do need your feedback and they do read it, but this is not the place to give feedback. If you want your opinion to be seen - post it in the developers' news section - as far as I know, all the topics there (especially those for new updates) are read by developers from start to finish and all constructive criticism is taken into account.
  3. I did not mean to offend anyone here with my comparison of Forum Games and this section, as I was simply saying that even though the ideas posted here won't be considered and added to the game for years, they are still interesting to share and discuss. If we are to use the word "pointless", then we might as well mark the whole of Tanki Online as "pointless", since it doesn't actually give us any benefit in real life. But you will say that "it allows us to have fun, socialise and relax", well a similar thing goes for the forum and this section - sharing ideas is a way to socialise, express ourselves and build a strong community of players with similar interests.
  4. The section may be ignored at the moment, but who knows - maybe in the (near?) future the developers will come back here to look for new ideas?

I hope I made myself clear.

Thank-you for clarifying this issue with us. However I propose this to think about.  Many of the ideas that get discussed in this section are relevant to updates that are currently being worked on. Some are ideas that should be implemented before some of the currently released updates. Some are ideas that need to be considered before the release of Unity. So, even though I understand that the demand on the development team is high, this is where they should be looking. I said it before, that feedback for already released updates is sometimes too little too late. Wouldn't it make more sense to get the design and ideas sorted out before they waste a lot of time coding something that then needs to be re coded after the fact? That is just poor planning. I truly have trouble understanding why the development team can't see the huge resource right here at their disposal.

It would be nice to have a thread "This is what we are planning next, but, haven't started coding yet. What do you guys think?"

Feedback before stating to code would make more sense than creating the code, having Semyon tell us "Update!" and then wonder why a majority of players responding hate something.

I agree, but unfortunately me agreeing with you will not bring developers back to this section.

Wait a second, are you serious? You are trying to say that you are keeping I&S open, just so we could boost our post count??!

Mate, we spend a lot of time on our ideas, and we don't even care about post count.

No, but you can suggest that they open their minds, think about what I say and come a have a look. Unless they don't listen to you either.

You notice I said they because it really doesn't make sense to only have 1 dev come here because that 1 will just filter whatever he personally doesn't like. The rest of the team will never even know they maybe just missed out on the greatest idea yet and all because that one person didn't like or understand it.
