Remove the captcha needed to login.

Recommended Posts

Tanki forum needs to remove the captcha needed to login. Most of them are difficult to decipher and always seem to end up being incorrect. I tried to login for hours today, but for some reason 99.99% of the captchas I answered said it was incorrect even when I'm positive I typed it right.

Its there because computers can't read them.

If you had no captcha on the forum a computer based software could eventually guess you password. The same thing happens when you enter the game, if you get your password wrong 3/4 time you need to enter a captcha to prove you are no computer.

There is really not much to discuss here, it won't be removed it stops others getting into you forum account.

You can change the captchas too as much as you like until you find one decipherable (numbers are far easier than letters), or listen to them, which should likely make it clearer.

CAPTCHA - to determine whether or not the user is human :)

I have to admit that it was hard to write it as two words with assembled letters. Sometimes six times in a row i did not entered it correctly. It is good that is again only three-digit or four-digit number.

4 words:

This idea sucks hard.

But why?

reCAPTCHA is a safeguard of your account to prevent robots or any virus on your computer from logging in on your account.Robots, viruses or the computer can't read though reCAPTCHA is coded a way it can.

So, this topic gets -1

All these posts are sort of wrong. The captcha really works by preventing auto-signups on forums by spambots.

If the captcha was there to stop illegal logins we'd have one when signing in to actually play.

The number ones are the best. Even as a native English speaker more than half the time I cannot get the ones right that have letters and lines or curves through them. I hate those the most and cannot imagine how speakers of non-Latin based languages deal with them.

even you are partially wrong. a chapta goal is to allow only humans to perform some tasks. as you said, making a forum account, thus avoiding spam bots, but also preventing malicious software to test thousands of login-combinations every second, effectively stealing a large amount of accounts. the forum and game use the same login data, so they both have a chapta system. but the game one does not show before some failed attemps, allowing users who typed wrong their password to do a few attemps before having to solve one.

Using the same password for the game and the forum is a serious security problem. Each should have a different password.

Also rather than having a manual captcha (one that only uses the keyboard) it is far better to require that the "submit" button require mouse interaction - this is much better security.

Many banks and the more advanced web sites require use of the mouse to click on the numbers/letters to enter captcha or password rather than using a typical form submission (pressing keys on your keyboard). This also helps avoid logging software capturing the password.

As per your issue description, I would like to inform you that the captcha is set by TO for security purposes. I can understand the inconvenience caused to you when things doesn’t work in the usual way. I would suggest you to try to change your browser and check if it helps or not.

Hope this helps. Please send me a PM if you need any help.
