Soccer = European football with a round ball, which would be a good game to adapt to Tanki.

 

Football = Australian Rules football.

It would be awesome!!! I would never leave Stadium if this was implemented, but I doubt flash could handle this and the lag would be insane.

All they need to do is to add a tankmodel that:

- is close to spheric, like this 20-sided object:

- has ultra-low weight

- has unlimited health

- is not part of a team, like a spectator is for an instance

 

In the first instance there is no need for a goal-detection or a certain spawn point.

It is just for fun anyways :)

 

ps: or they add the ball to team blue, while there is a second tank that will never spawn taking a slot in team red.. just a workaround that make it happen :)

Just make it an object, no need for it to have health.

Weight is a necessity though, or else gravity has no effect on it :P

I don't know about their code, but I expect that "just objects" are treated like houses and trees -> they do not move if you bump into them or shoot them :)

Therefor I expect it is easier to implement it as a tank.. but in order to not get it destroyed unliited health is needed.

 

Agreed on gravity, therefore I wrote "Ultra-Low weight" and not "no weight". It needs to have weight, else you shoot it out of the map each time you touch it. But it still may not be too heavy as it should roll and travel a decent way if you push it. Tanki likes the word balance anyways :p

 

This is also the reason why I proposed the 20sided object.. I hope it has enough edges so that it does no roll infinitely, but slows down while it travels (as all those edges produce colisions with the ground)
