I up voted your post in reguards to separate prices for separate servers, that would make the current pricing system justified, but that's not the case so, it is an unfair system, Tanks is sending the wrong message to kids by teaching kids the wrong values of economics, it doesn't work that way in the real world.

Nah, in North Korea the government would set the prices, not the game Admins :D Anyways, I'm willing to chop my right hand off if Tanki separates completely Russian and other Worldwide servers. They won't do it since Russians are the core of Tanki, and if Russians will be separated - well, the Russian separated servers will be full, but the other servers will be 30% populated if not less :D

They won't :) The reason that Russian players pay a different sum is that the Ruble is just diving into hell and ruining Russia's economy :) You can't just put the same prices in a standalone economy such as European/American and in crashing economies such as Russia's..

 

By the way - in many games in which you can buy stuff (like Team Fortress, where you can buy items and stuff), there are separate prices for Russia and most of the world, but there are completely separate servers - that way, some Russian that used up the low prices and bought lots of things won't be overpowered comparing to an American that bought less.

This is just fancy political talk to justify Russian developers unfairly favoring their own country. There are plenty of poor people in Europe and America, and economies go up and down constantly. What happens when American economy is down and Russian economy is up? The only fair way to do it is 1 price for everybody.

If one believes in "Free Trade" then you are correct.

But if one instead believes in "protectionism" for their country (any country) against any other country's influence, then not.

There was a good reason for that.

 

But my issue (now that I looked into it) is what others have complained about:

- what people pay in Russian currency versus American currency

 

For the maximum option comparison:

7500 crystals per American dollar (via rubles)

versus only 3600 crystals per American dollar (via USD)

which equals MORE than double (2+X) the amount of crystals for those paying in Russian currency! :ph34r:

 

I guess that's their version of "Protectionism" to safeguard Russians and nonRussians who pay in Russian currency.

Don't be fooled. This is nothing more then a smoke screen to distract you from the truth that they actually increased the cost for those countries that have more disposable income. It is also to make it easier to hide the fact that Russians get to play this game for half the price. When they said they where making small changes to the payment system, I assumed they meant they where making adjustments to the price.  Well that was a rather stupid assumption. I should know better.

Be patient, after this kind of good update from tanki online you can't complain cause we're most likely to feature another good update following this update, you don't have any complains about this update right? If you do, then you won't be happy for the next update since 1 good update can be lead by another bunch of updates.
