Hello, tankers!

Tired of participating in contest with a single theme? Tired of doing the same thing over and over to win? Then, I present to you, the Poetry Quest!

  • All you have to do is complete the quest using the clue given below. The first clue will lead you to a location strictly within the forum. However, the clues to follow may take you to the Internet outside as well!
  • Once you get the final keyword, listen carefully - the keyword will invariably something about which you can easily express your feelings.

  • The twist in the tale is - you have to compose a poem about the keyword, in no less than 8 and no more than 16 lines!
  • The best poem wins! There are no prizes for finishing first, so take your time in conceptualizing a poetic masterpiece!
  • All poems have to be submitted to @PoetryQuestEntries. Posts on this thread will NOT be accepted.

So, without further ado, let me kick-start the contest by providing the first, vital clue!

I guess the person after me loves Aliens - in fact, he recorded an observation of four hundred and eighty one of them on the 25th.

  • Pay attention to the clue^ - it's deadly simple once you apply your mind! And remember, the final keyword can only be unraveled by cryptic thinking and a logical mind!

Why should you enter this contest? Is it for the familiar satisfaction of solving quests? Is it for the uncanny passion that arrives at your fingers when you sit down to write a poem?

Okay, or it could just be for a fat paycheck. So without ado, let me introduce you to the contest rewards!

1st place will receive 40 000 crystals

2nd place will receive 20 000 crystals

3rd place will receive 10 000 crystals

Never fear, tankers! We also have consolation prizes of 5000 crystals for any potential entries that were not good enough to make it to the top three, but still deserve to be recognized!

  • This contest ends on September 30. Start your engines!

So, good luck, tankers and happy hunting! We hope to see some fantastic poems from you!

ATTENTION TANKERS - Due to poor participation and entry quality, I have decided to release the keyword on September 29. This means you have one day to complete your poem! Get ready, tankers!

The keyword is POLYGON CP

Finally, a big thank you to @Issho_Fujitora without whose editing powers we wouldn't have the quest at all and this would just be another boring ol' poetry contest

Meh, I feel like the clue relies upon knowledge of the forum rather than critical thinking and logic. I'm not sure how newcomers or non active forumers will ever figure it out. Or perhaps I don't understand the clue.

It would be nice if a few days before the deadline, the key word was issued to the public. That way, smart tankers who deciphered the clue will have a large advantage, but every tanker still has a chance.

Actually, the critical thinking comes up at the very end - the final hurdle.

And what you're saying has a point. I'll see the number of entries, plus the number which are actually correct, and release the keyword A DAY before the deadline if everyone is struggling - otherwise, the work of the questors will go waste ;)

^^^

I know where to find it but I don't understand the second part of the clue

The second clue is a vital part of the first clue ;)

To all those who are stuck, let me give you this piece of advice - The location of the second clue is within the first, just apply your mind!

That's all you'll get, now shoo, go solve it

the vital?

And if I wanted to find it by a different perspective way, how would I do that (just explain)?

Um, let's just say that you won't find the next clue by reading only the first half of the current one.

And by different perspective, I mean that you need to apply your brain two ways to get this - one analytically, one cryptically. I tell you, it's deadly simple once you crack the first clue.
