Flash TO requires a web browser and the flash player plugin if you are using Windows and Mac. If you are using Linux you need to use Chrome with built in flash. (pepper flash)

Untiy TO requires a web browser other then Chrome and the unity web player plugin. The unity web player is available for Windows and Mac for all browsers except Chrome. Google has dropped support for all NPAPI based plugins so unity web player is no longer supported.  Kind of a big blow to the developers, they made a desision to use Unity and Google drops support. If you use Linux, Unity TO will not be available to you at all unless Tanki makes a standalone version.

Not true, I run Linux (Mint!) and use Firefox 'cause Chrome isn't supported on Linux. Firefox works for Flash Tanki. Also, I feel that Tanki will not be making a standalone with all the effort put into Unity, plus the fact that they'd have 3 separate Tankis to moderate and develop. Hopefully, The Flash Tanki will still be running for all Linux (and other OS's) players to use.

Well Firefox uses flash 11.2 and 11.2 doesn't support hardware acceleration so graphics are terrible. Chrome is supported in Linux, I use it.

Also they could release Unity TO that uses the Web player and a standalone player and uses the same servers etc. It wouldn't be a third version.

I checked. I use Firefox 1.0 as far as my laptop says. Works fine for me. sorry, I'm not a total geek, so I really don't care. I am not leaving Flash Tanki.

I don't get why people are saying that their computers won't be able to handle the Unity version of Tanki. If it can work for phones (which was their original reason for making Unity Tanki), then surely it must work for your computer. If your computer really won't be able to handle it, you should be getting a new one anyways.

You will not start in Unity version as with 0 crystals

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Tanki Online on Unity: Q&A

Will there be a way to switch from the current Tanki to the new version? Or will players have to start from the beginning?

The new Tanki and the current version will both exist at the same time. You will be able to play any of the 2 versions. You will also be able to copy your account from the old Tanki to the new one, but only once. This will copy your rank, crystals and garage. After that you will be able to play both the old Tanki and the new version.

Recruits don't start with 0 crystals they start with 500. :P

I do have a question for the development team, if someone can please pass it along.

Are you going to have private and/or open alpha and beta testing or are you just going skip the preferred usual route and go straight to release?

Of course Tanki won't beat World of Tanks...especially with the recent updates and the fact that there is not a random match making in Tanki....anyone can play with anyone and can also put mults in opponent team especially in CP where our moderators don't know what is a mult and therefore he cannot be banned.

Also, after all there is that "mighty" thing called Gold box...again, multing for it is not a new topic, everyone is doing it especially 10 year old kids with mind of OUFA, Portes or any other Gold hunter who decided to make videos literarly about multing...and such things in V-log certainly won't help the problem.

So true.

After seeing the reply's asking about the fps drop and problems with tanki in unity, i'll point to some things you need to know .

Depending on game optimization , there won't be any fps drop in my opinion , why ? unity is a game engine that offer very smooth gameplay , in fact you'll get fps increase maybe . there are many game out there to try , contract wars , ballistic are great examples , with a weak pc you can even run it on medieum - high settings (yes even with big maps. and i don't think tanki devs will make a poor-optimizatied game which will affect many tanki players . sorry for my mistakes

Ok,thanks for the information. :)

You don't really need 4 players, you can do with 2 or 3 if you want. BTW the "Master of Parkour" contest will start from next week (Friday) :)

can you do solo parkour for the contest or do you need at least 2 though.

I second that, will there be an open testing?
