Changing Daily Missions for Diversity

Recommended Posts

Hello, Tankers,

I would like to point out to Tanki Administrators that Daily Missions are not diversifying the game to the extent that they could be. Daily Missions seem to be based on gaining Experience Points on a certain map or game mode. Unfortuately, this system needs some work.

Tankers may have noticed that many daily missions require a certain amount of experience to be earned in a certain map. It seems that these maps are always the same: for me, it is Polygon, Highland, Kunger, Serupov, and Sandbox. Occasionally there is a mission on Rio as well. This results in a consolidation of tankers in certain maps on the game. I seldom see a game with a map such as Valley, Deathtrack, Brest, or Garder in the Server game list. Other maps are probably unknown even to experienced tankers: Boombox, Gravity, Kolhoz, Magistral, Molotov, Parma, Skylark, Tribute, and Zone. There are 74 maps total, and I only know a few because I am unable to join new maps. Not many tankers want to start a new battle, because the point of playing is to make XP, and it is a slow process if you start a new battle and must play alone until someone joins. However, changing the Daily Missions system could easily and quickly solve this problem.

The change I would suggest to solve this problem is changing what maps are used in missions every day. On the first day, five (5) maps would be chosen to be used in missions. Tankers logging on would get missions to play on one of these five maps, and, to get the reward, they would join the map. For example, the first maps could be Alexandrovs, Cross, Gubakha, Noise, and Siege. Tankers would receive missions to play on these maps for a day. On the next day, Alexandrovs would be removed from the list, and Arena would be added. Tankers would then receive missions for Arena, Cross, Gubakha, Noise, and Seige. The next day, tankers would receive missions for Arena, Deathtrack, Gubakha, Noise, and Seige. The pattern would continue until all maps are used, then it would be repeated.

This idea would diversify Tanki and give a new interest to daily missions. It would be a great benefit to Tanki's economy and the participation of players.

I am so bored with Polygon that I am find myself just not playing the missions for the day.  In fact, not playing at all.  Not only do I get a disproportionate number of "play Polygon map" missions, but when I get "play DM mode" nobody is playing those on any other map and they will not join me if I create one.

Very nice, though instead of just changing 1 map change 2 or maybe 3?

It would be nice to play on some different maps, some are just so good but no one plays on them. An example is Pass CP, its a very interesting gameplay where any weapons can do well in.

Thanks for the up-votes and replies, guys.

I thought of having more than one map changed per day, but I think that it would take people a while to "learn to like" a new map. Leaving each map in the game for five days before changing it gives people a very good chance of receiving a mission on that map and finding that it is an enjoyable map to play on. I also didn't want to many maps in the game at the same time. This would cause a wider distribution of players, but then people would be getting games on maps that are not on the server list.

You may be right, and that is something that Tanki Administration should definitely keep in mind, should they accept this modification.

I feel they need something besides kills or XP, or to make the aforementioned more diverse.

Like "Kill ten tanks using railgun." or "Kill five tanks using mines."

The collect boxes ones are not good, a lot of people get them and it's a fight for a single speed boost.

I honestly don't know how to add any more, but I feel if they did specific kill missions it would give me a reason to use the smoky that's been collecting dust in my garage since I bought railgun.

Thank you for bringing light the part of Daily Missions I've criticized since the day it was implemented. Definitely a +1 from me.

My only objection to this is that having the maps change at certain points would become predictable, and the missions are already predictable as it is. Simple take out all the popular maps and force people to go to the unpopular. Whilst regulating what maps come at certain times would show you defined growth of those particular maps, then players will just gravitate to the next ones and the next ones. If you throw all of the maps that people rarely ever play, that they've never heard of, you will see a cumulative growth in all those maps. May be slower, but it should get the job done just as well.

I'm not sure about this. While it would surely work good in concept, I think that people would then be more spread out across different maps rather than playing on the new ones. It is also possible that removing popular maps from missions would cause so many complaints that it would no longer be worth the effort for the Administration to change the missions system. Thank you for bringing up that point, though.

Exactly why leaving the game was a good choice for me a long time ago, absolutely no game diversity anymore.

I made the daily challenges topic to create diversity in the game, the idea was added and my topic was closed. However it didn't create any diversity in the game, only the popular maps are being brought up in your Daily Challenges bar.

+1 for this idea

+1

We should other maps for missions like Parma, Deathtrack, Magistral, Valley, Kolhoz, Berlin, and many more! We could also add other diverse missions-

  • Catch a drop box while jumping
  • Drop a flag for a teammate to capture
  • Get three consecutive kills without dying
  • [Thinking of more!]

I heard in the v-log that there would be missions such as earn xp with theese weapons and hulls but i understand why they wouldnt add it people would complain 'ive been stuck on this missions for day, earning xp with my m0 firebird and this would be especially hard for the high ranks cause they might not bother upgrading that wep/hull.

True, I hope those kind of missions are never introduced, but others would be most welcome.
