I liked the old version too. I loved Canyon. I played it few times but I really miss it.

 

By the way, anyone know why is Fort Knox so unpopular than it was years ago? It was the most crowded map with Silence.

They bumped required rank up to Corporal.

 

And while we're on the subject of Deck 9, let's talk about the other maps removed in that update. I can find videos of both probably.

Many of the maps that have since been removed were great maps - I regret my failure to play more on them before their removal.

 

Deck-9, Magadan, and of course, Moon Silence - some of my favorites.

I agree. Deves say it was removed due to inactivity, that is bull and most know that.  The truth is that it couldn't hold CP mode without it being unfair and the Deves wanted to say "all maps hold all game modes. " That's also why Camp was reworked, old players know what I mean.

If the devs want all maps to hold all game modes then why doesnt Arena, support CTF?

I never got to play this map because i joined about a week before the major Rebalance in 2012. After that until the new physics there was a system where you had to be a certain rank to play certain maps. Some of the best maps started to unlock at WO5 since that was when the first M2 unlocked... (Well at least in my head, thats the case)

I loved both of those maps omg. Canyon was better with the tunnels,until they decided to remove i completely.

 

Magadan was one of the best maps for me to use Isida and ricochet on.

I never got to play on Labyrinth sadly, but there was issues with that map which couldn't be solved. Mostly bugs but most players when joining it got a black/grey screen so it was decided for it to be removed.

 

While Deck-9 was removed due to "inactivity" well I can tell you right now it was more active than Osa, Wolfenstein, Deathtrack, Berlin the list is endless. There was always at least 1 Deck-9 on most servers. Some don't even know of the maps I mentioned above.

While we're on the topic of old maps, I'd like Silence and Highland to split back into 2 maps  :wub: The original highland was one of the best maps ever!! I use to spend hours trolling by going back and forth behind the map, it was sooo much fun!!  :wub:  :wub: Oh and the original Silence didn't have that annoying wall in front of the blue team's houses (From Red Base Perspective).  Split those maps  :wub:  :wub:

Ikr original silence was best map there was imo
