Private Battles Should be Behind a Paywall

Hello,

I suggest that private battles be only available to players who have a special pass that can only be bought with real money. If the game adopts a freemium model, private battles can be a privilege exclusive to premium subscribers, meaning only premium players can create/join private battles and only premium players can be invited to private battles.

But what's the logic behind this?

TO is a free-to-play game (at least it would seem so!), and free-to-play games make use of free, non-paying players to increase their player population and activity. So, in return for the server resources players take advantage of for free they are expected to contribute by investing their time and effort creating more action in the game. However, private battle players currently consume server resources for free only for their own "private" entertainment without "contributing" to the public community of players in the game.

I don't have an idea about the percentage of private battles, but I presume these "invisible" players are consuming significant amounts of server resources causing more loss than gain to the game. You want to use the server for your own private entertainment? Pay for it!

 

UPDATE:

 

There can be an alternative way, besides paying real money, to enable players to get a private pass for free:

A reward system that credits players with private time based on how much action they create in public battles. So, let's say for every 150 experience points you earn in public battles you get credited with 1 minute of private time. So for example, if you want to play for 30 minutes in a private battle you'll have to earn 4,500 experience points in public battles. It should not be made easy!

The server resources private battles use are like a grain of sugar in a full jar. i dont really see a need for this, it will just ruin the fun for someone who wants to play with friends avoiding the usual noob who does not chat and cause havock. i cant even see a reasonable price for this thing. really, who is going to buy it? 1 person out of 10.000? most tanki players consider even the pro-pass a waste of money.

Exactly! No, no, no!!!!! The reason Tanki is growing popular, is because it is FREE TO PLAY, and you can get EVERYTHING WITHOUT paying real money. This idea is terrible, that one small change would make half the players leave tanki.

Horrible and a no-use idea. Who'd want to pay just to play privately without noobs? NO! JUST NO! Pay for Private Battles just to play peacefully? I totally disagree. Private Battles always promise fun, and excitement. Why'd you want to take away that from us? If it requires pro pass, let it be. But paying just for private battles without the noobs? Sorry bub, but its a -1.

1/10.000 is realy much, tanki have millions of players, so it would be realy good if 1/10000 wil buy it

Sure.. They will leave just because they won't be able to play XP 24/7.

The large number of down-votes only supports my assumption that there is a significant number of players privately consuming server resources without publicly contributing to the game.

Free-to-play MMO games are supposed to be public not private! Private battles are like black holes sucking in players and leading to less public activity in the game. Those private battles add nothing to the player community and they do not help populate the game.

And if all pros and serious players are playing private battles then this mostly leaves mults in public battles, which is very attractive to prospective players, isn't it?!

This practice has a negative effect on player retention and growth.

And no, you're not supposed to get everything for free in a free-to-play game. What you are supposed to get for free is an entertaining and fair game experience.
