Tanki will come up with a solution for this. Such a thing as in your picture will confuse new players on what's going on. Also maybe the forums will be divided into 2 bigger sections for Flash and Unity? Who knows. In short, Tanki will come up with a solution.

If it does, that will be cool. I read somewhere that they will make a launcher with "Tanki" icon on it in your desktop!  :P

This would not be confusing. You come to the Homepage. Either your a " Unity Player " or " Flash Player ". Same layout just adding a Unity icon to go play. Your could even name the icons Unity | Flash. That way you would be maintaining the same layout. And it could be cost effective. Why invent a new wheel when you have one already working. All you would have to do is just add a Unity icon to go play!   :)

If it's something completely new game then it is illogical to be on the same main page. Also, what if Unity version is called completely different? Maybe without word tank, what then? Only we (at Forum) are calling it TO Unity, because there no offical name yet.

 

 

• Tanki Online Unity is a new game. It might have even its own name. But this is not the update, it is a separated product.
• Tanki Online Flash is planned to be updated constantly at least a year or two. As long as player's interest will be there, the game will be there..

Well it is logical that they have separated Web pages if they are seperated products. Why would the case with the company AlternativaPlatform be an exception in IT world?

 

EA Sports is having separated FIFA page from Need for Speed page which are separated from other EA products . So why?

I am also interested about Forum page, but no one asks "Will be there forum for TOF separated Forum for TOU". I doubt Unity version will use this Forum because there is no space for both.

I don't see anything different that unity or flash players would be posting. It would be repetitive! What new is going to come out of having to separate forums. Just more staff possibly. If unity players post in this forum it would make flash players more curious to move over to unity may be. Why duplicate!!

General part of Forum would be overfull. If you use sections Ideas and Suggestions and Violation Reports and Problems and Solutions for TOF and for TOU there is no space and there are not same problems in Problems and Solutions and Ideas and Suggestions

To say again, only we are calling that new game Tanki Online Unity, because no one knows official name for it. What if that new game is called completely different then I doubt it can be located at Tanki Online Forum.

I really don’t see what’s so complicated about having two start buttons on the Home Page. Try to picture the forum as a house, with many rooms, or sections that contain subjects. It’s a place to go and share/gain information, camaraderie, and enjoyment, among other things. At the main entrance of this house there are two doors. One door is for Flash players, and one is for Unity. This doesn’t change the form at all. The only thing that changes here is that Unity has more advanced graphics, which enables you to view incredible 3D content with immersive physics. While Flash is what we have now. It’s not a different game. It’s still Tanki. I really think having two forums will only complicate matters, not to mention the extra staff cost leading to higher prices.

 

P.S. I think the basis for this proposal is a good idea...+1 (used up my positive vote quota for the day).

I also don't see what all the hulabaloo is about. Just because you hear that TOU MIGHT be a separate unit doesn't mean everything will be duplicated. And when AlternativaPlatform doesn't know what its going to do, its best to play it by ear. Wait till you hear confirmed information to start panicking, as they seem to respond to live feedback better than stuff over time. I'm not saying you should completely ignore Hazel's comments on the new version of the game, just keep them in mind as they gradually reveal the game.

 

I do support this notion because it keeps the Flash version within the eyes of Unity players, making it not as easy to forget what the game once was...
